Conflict zones, any way of finding them?

Ive been looking around forever, chasing duds from old forum posts but I just cant seem to find an active conflict zone anywhere. Does anyone have any clue where I can find one right now?

Pretty much any system that has rares is in a state of civil war.

Come to Lugh it has WAR going on not civil war. Come fight for the feds! Lets crush those fanatics who wants to have independence!

I don't really understand how incredibly backwards technology has gone in this futuristic universe. It's easier to find the nearest Chinese food restaurant with a smart phone in the 21st century than it will be to find the nearest conflict zone in the 34th century. I wish they would have a simple navigation aid menu in the galaxy map that would let you automatically track a course to the nearest conflict zone, or the nearest RES if there's none in the current system, or the nearest Alliance, Federal or Empire system if I'm in one of the other factions systems, or anything that I might logically be searching for and want to chart a course to go and visit. It's not that I'm lazy (though really I am), but rather it's that it makes absolutely no sense that these options wouldn't exist in the 34th century in computers that are specifically designed to show a map and chart courses.

Crimson state... How many of you must die before you realize your fallacy?

But on topic.. Yes, Lugh has some high and low intensity zones.

Try to use Google Maps to find the best Restaurant near Omicron Perseii. These things are really, really far.

Besides, in the lore, information is closely guarded, and hard to transmit across the stars.

I recently put up a suggestion thread about this very issue. The thing is, the STATE info (war, civil war, boom, lockdown, etc...) is already freely available for many populated systems - the problem is you have to sit there manually looking through each system one at a time in order to see it, which is obviously painfully and needlessly tedious.

All they need to do is add a map filter category for STATE, and then people would have quick access to this content without having to pointlessly waste a couple hours trying to find one.

(The galnet news feed often leads to maybe one or two conflict zones, but there are many more 'hidden' ones happening at any given moment that you'll never find without wasting copious amounts of time staring at the map as you try to remember which systems you've already examined so you don't look at them twice.)

I have the same problem. I also have no idea where the community goals are. Have they finished??

I'm convinced "Powerplay" will effectively be a big shake up of faction rep, info, locations of events, goals etc. hopefully missions as well but that's maybe pushing it a bit for 1.3.

It's frustrating to know there is content out there that you can't take advantage of because its so difficult to find.

All current (and past) comm goals are listed in this thread by Brokenstorm , check 1st post for current comm goals

Thanks Zap, that is useful and I will use it-but it's pretty crazy you need to exit game and check a forum to see where the fun is!

Well the comm goals are put on Galnet first, but, Um it can take some interpretation ;) sometimes, so double checking with forum might save you some time and effort.

I always wanted a thing that gave you notices based on your rank. The higher rank, the greater the range you can receive notices from nearby systems that appeal to your career.

Fighters would get info about high bounty targets and conflict zones.
Traders would get info about lucrative trade missions or a seeking luxery type deal.
Explorers would get info about unclaimed systems or ones with special planets/stars(these would have to be claimed though but still unexplored)

Besides, in the lore, information is closely guarded, and hard to transmit across the stars.

True. Information is power today. Will it be any LESS so in C34? I doubt it.

I like the idea of rank based information feeds though, but Explorers' feeds would have to work differently, maybe with the addition of recent locality, e.g. 'We notice that you filed cartographic data for ABC. We are interested in XYZ, nn LY away. Please gather data for that system.' Or some such.
