Aww, guys, I think you scared em away.

OP: What are you trading in? That might be a good amount in a Hauler or something small...once you upgrade to a bigger ship though, like a t6, you can make a lot more...and it just keeps going up after that.

I'm currently earning 1050 per ton one way, 1200 per ton another - single jump (14.5Ly - but can be done in 2 with a jump of 11Ly then a 4Ly).

I'm in a Type 7. I'm making 200k+ per jump.

If you thought trading was OP on your own, try winging up with a couple of T9s on a good route you'd be making 65k in profit bonds every time you dock.

It makes no sense from a realism perspective. Last I checked, there weren't any truck drivers making anywhere near the amount of money as a Fleet Admiral. Thus pursuing a combat career in Elite should be the most profitable.

Should not respond to flamebait, but your comparison is wrong. Neither of those roles exist in ED.

Try Eddie Stobart vs Naval Reserve. Front line troops earn a pittance when compared to Stock Market Analysts or Independent Hauliers.

Should not respond to flamebait, but your comparison is wrong. Neither of those roles exist in ED. Try something like Fleet Admirals who earn huge money compared to guys hauling cargo cross country for measly earnings.

(To be fair, I didn't expect anyone to take the comment seriously and go to the equally slimy opposite end of the spectrum. Gross.)
