So, does this need fixing??

Ok, so I'm buzzing about in my 'home' system, dropping into USS and so on for a bit of fun.

I come across a 'strong' one, and drop in, and lo and behold, there's the 'gold trap'...

wth, I think. I'll play along, and see what I get...

So I wander over to the gold and 3 anacondas jump in, and the 'get him, lads' message appears

So, I boost, and when I'm away a bit, I take a look at them.

2 of them have no shields and their hull says 0%, and the other is normal and wanted.

So I decide to have a go, since 2 have no shields, I reckon I can take 'em (or some of them anyway)

I target one without shields, boost straight at him, and let him have both E3 bursts in the power plant at knife range.

I immediately become 'wanted' and get a fine!!!!

All 3 of them open up on me, so I finish off the one I started with, noticing that he is actually 'clean', and so is the other shield-less one (despite him shooting me), but the one with shield is still 'wanted'.

I get an 11,000 bounty/fine on my head for my trouble, so I think 'bleep that' and jump out.

So, what's the deal?

They can set a trap, jump in, and send threatening messages, and not be pirates?

You have to let them shoot first?

And what's with the 0% hulls?

Bug, you reckon?

Anyway, I'm lovin' my Vulture :D

Well technically they haven't broken any laws until they open fire on you. The 0% thing is a bug though. As soon as you land the first hit, their hull % jumps back up to 98% or whatever.

Next time, attack the Wanted guy first! ;)

^^ This.

OP, you don't say that the ship you opened fire on was wanted so I assume he wasn't. It was probably the wanted one that made the threat. The ship you opened fire on is now free to fire on you without his clean status changing.

Yeah, I get that (and I think he was indeed clean, thinking about it), but my point is, if he is part of a wing doing 'traps' on innocent ships - he should be a pirate already, so all the ships in a wing operating in such a manner should be wanted already.

You know they would have opened fire on me, so it's set up wrong in my opinion.

Clean, innocent ships, shouldn't be behaving like this...
