Oh dear... back to the drawing board?

As I didin't really found a subforum for the lighter side of posting... I thought I'd drop it here for a little bit of banter...

The corrugated galaxy: Milky Way may be much larger than previously estimated

As we're playing in a Milky Way that's as closely as possible a simulation of the real thing... well, we might have to change a few things around... like bigger FTL drives :D I'm sure the Asto-minded people in these boards will have a field day with this news ;)

yes i read this v.interesting the detail behind the research and assumptions is some piece of work
around over-density
however, its all probably hologramic anyway ..... we'll find out soon

another few plancks down the rabbit hole. Blue pill, red pill or the superstate ?

Now that youve pointed this out people will start to complain that FD have to fix this as it
ruining their immersion :)

Somehow I doubt that FD will re-do galaxy... I mean, it's already large enough, it'll take most likely dozens of years for ED community to get "explored" tag on all systems even with this many stars... maybe even more? I mean, now explored systems are something like 0.00015% of the total amount of systems.

And what if three years from now this finding is proven wrong, and galaxy is as big as it is in ED now? these estimations change, and at least I don't think that FD has to jump with whatever happens to be current estimation. Would be such a hassle over so little gain.

"The inherited are beginning to scratch their walls, masters."

"The experiment is failing."

"Yes, masters, we are sending in the reset team now. A new iteration will begin soon."

"Proceed"

There is a Astronomy Forum where other posters have placed info about other things that have been discovered since the game was released:

Try 75 000 years, at this rate. 0.000223 % explored in middle of february, that's two months after release. 0.001338 in a year.

Mindboggling large number of stars.
