LOL drop ship more of a combat ship the other actual combat ships. SMH FD

title says it all. drop ship a combat ship. python& anaconda aren't lmao. i really wish these people that make the decisions would label stuff in this game instead of making up rules as they go.

With the ability for players to choose what modules to fit to any given ship, the ships can perform multiple roles. Your wish to label ships into specific roles would be misleading some of the time.

i understand the vulture and the FDL but the drop ship? why doesn't FD just say we F'ed up and made the new ships too high price so now were pretending that the "pure" combat ships are getting a price reduction. so dumb

I so hope this renews interest in it, be interesting to see the new price. While it suffers in 1v1 PVP, it actually is a nice ship for wings imo, consider it a gunboat, only just missing that huge hard point vs ferd, and I found it had plenty of power so it makes a nice tank. One of those ships that sucks alone, but with fighter support. I bought it last night and messed around in a res. You have alot of firepower and *if* they have made it cheap enough, could be a nice alternative to asp before you get python. I wish I had a t9 so could compare turn rates.

The Dropship was overpriced for what it can do since the beginning, it is supposed to be a multirole Combat/Passenger ship, but the passenger mechanics weren't implemented yet.

Stop the dumb complaints already.

The Anaconda has always been a heavily armored freighter. It can be outfitted as a massive gunboat, but it's not exactly optimal in that role, hence why you can kill one in a Viper without much trouble at all. The Python I've always considered more of a multi-purpose ship. In combat I think it takes more of a support role rather than a head-on fighter. It's too slow to turn to do that, which seems to be the vision that FD has for it as well, since they nerfed its fightery-ness. In a Python get a couple wingmen, hang back, and aim at your targets with large weapons while the fighter wingmen are tearing them up. If they go after you, your wingmen will have ample opportunity to tear them apart, if they go after your wingmen, you will have nothing but clean shots.

The dropship...I...uh...I don't know. I guess it's supposed to be a combat ship, since it goes into hot warzones to drop off troops. But I don't really see a point to it honestly. I mean I guess it's cool that it's cheaper, but as a pure combat vessel I'm not impressed, and as a multi-purpose ship, it's also lacking compared to even the Asp, which is cheaper and can do more easier.

KEYWORD you just used MULTIROLE. i guess reading the actual descriptions of ships makes them a certin way in the eyes of the irrational

While I agree that all ships are multirole, some are more multirole than others. =P You won't, for example, be bulk trading in a Vulture any time soon. And you won't be tackling conflict zones in a Type 6, either.

With that said, you could feasibly do BOTH of those things in a Python or an Anaconda.

The dropship needs a price cut more than any other ship. Maybe, if it cost around 2-4 mill, some people would actually use it as an alternative or stepping stone to an Asp.

The price cut will probably be not nearly as big, though :)

why would anyone buy a drop ship. compared to the other ships and not to mention the EXTREMELY BROKEN faction missions it still isn't worth it
