Not really a good idea. Warzones is the real place its a problem.
Nav point is much easier to avoid FF so I see no issue with it the way it is. Conflict zones are more tolerant than nav points and should be because it is harder to avoid the occasional FF.There should be like a 5 shot buffer zone where your misplaced shot doesn't trigger a fine or penalty right away.
It is rather dumb to get a fine because someone jumped in front of your guns. How about a warning or something first?
I left the Nav and went to pay my fine and of course the SysAuth opened up on me while I was making my way toward the mail slot.
At least let me land so I can pay the fine before opening fire.
Stop hitting NPC ships on your side and you will not have this problem again. It called using your brain when pulling the trigger. Please do not think I am flaming you or being argumentative, but learning to shooting and how to pull your trigger are the 2 best thing to learn when playing this game.
Wing up with 3 of them., make more money and have protection when stupid happens. It's an awesome game feature, try it!![]()
Every commander going after you isn't some sort of unsportsman thing which you seem to be implying, most people don't keep on eye on the friendly green triangles, but when a enemy red triangle appears they immediately attack it by reflex, probably because they've been attacked by real hostile players enough to know its in their best interest to strike first.
Theres 20 green triangles, and then one red triangle appears in the midst. If you are so panicked by the thought of ONE enemy player showing up while surrounded by friendly ships then thats just hilarious. Seriously, take the time to look in contacts and see the faction the player is with. Its not hard, only takes a couple seconds. Really its just common sense, but I suppose it isn't so common as the saying goes....
This will sound like a answer but really: get better and use common sense
The only issues here are lack of skill and lack of common sense, if you're dumb enough to fire in the middle of a swarm of allies, you deserv to be shot down if you happen to FF.
Learn to aim.
And most importantly:
Learn WHEN to shoot.
You can avoid all FF if you take a second to see that you'll hit a friendly if you keep shooting, pethaps it's better yo switch targets or get a better vantage point (if your ship is fast enough to get one).
Edit: btw, don't forget that other pilots don't give a space-rat double-bottom that they're stealing your kill, but hey, if you don't like them being douches, it's easy to fix that, and hey, they're likelly in front of your crosshair too..
Without wanting to sound like a smartass, (really - I mean that) isn't it a matter of situational awareness? Wouldn't it be like that in a real situation?

Considering the combat model of close, crowded combat and laser beams, no it's not always a matter of situational awareness which is why it's so stupid that you immediately go hostile. In this situation the pilots would be prepared for an accidental shot now and then, it would simply be inevitable and turning on your own constantly would not be viable or at all intelligent.
It's a poor system in it's current implementation.
