Power Distributor

I was pew pewing away at an annaconda last night , selected the power system for a quick kill but miss-counted my 'subsystem seclect' button presses and before I noticed I had taken the 'power distribution' system down to 0..I decided to keep harrying the ship and see what happens.

What I don't get is , this system sends the power to the various systems , sure , it won't destroy the ship...it's basically a big fusebox with power lines going from it..

but the Anaconda kept going and going and going.....I eventually targetted the right system and blew the ship up..

BUT....if there was no way for the Anaconda to send power to the weapons / shields / engines , once the current power in the modules had been used....shouldn't it have just floated dead in space?

Taking out the power distributor stops the enemy being able to control how many pips are in eng/wep/sys, nothing else.

In theory it would still have the power in the capacitors. but it is more likely that it is a flaw in the game design of that system

shouldnt it also be able to stop those systems from charging as that is what the distributor controls

My Power Distribute has been taken out in one fight, the result was a random change in power pips, wich I wasn't able to control. Very nasty thing but systems were still supplied with energy.

I decided on an experiment....I turned OFF my power distributor just now in empty space...

My engines / shields etc all recharged as normal , BUT...my weapons drained rather quickly.....(one 3A pulse laser) and it didn't recharge.

in fact...my engine boost capacitor powered up way faster than usual, even when it has 4 pips in it.

Not sure if this is correct behaivour or it's bugged currently..

based on this the Anaconda should have really stopped firing....I WAS following it for over 5 minute before I switch systems and destroyed it.
