AFK Capital ship camping for free money

You can sit AFK at the Lugh capital ship and rack up 15 million+ in a couple hours. I wouldn't mind if there wasn't a community goal opposing the federation but right now there is literally no way the crimson state will win.

Is this sort of behavior intended? Is it Frontier's way of railroading the storyline?

Good point. You're right. The AFK part doesn't matter. They're just sitting in front of a capital ship racking up millions of credits by doing nothing.

As with any battle, whoever brings the biggest guns tends to win.

There's a capital ship for the federation, I don't see any problems with people using that capital ship to their advantage... it's there to help win against the CSG.

That argument doesn't really hold up when both sides have an infinite number of ships across 10 or so instances and the result is determined by player contributions to community goals.

Yeah, so it isn't exactly fair that only one side gets this advantage.
Except that the Federation is a gigantic multisystem nation with a massive amount of military funding and power to the point where they can build ships the size of cities for the singular purpose of killing.

The Crimson State is a small faction in a single star system with negligible resources, and nearly no power compared to the Federation. Wouldn't it break the realism if they had equal chances as the Feds? And wouldn't it be silly if the Fed capital ship didn't show up to help? You don't just ask the rebels nicely to not overthrow your government.

Federation is considered a major faction for a reason, so of course it has an advantage over some tiny independent group of local fanatics. Personally think they could handle the whole conflict zone and capital ship thing a little better, but war isn't about "even" fights.

My issue has nothing to do with the story. It has everything to do with the community goals attached to this. Completely detach yourself from the lore for a moment.

As players are able to leech off federation Capital Ship kills for combat bonds there is a 0% chance of the CSG even nearing the opposing goal, let alone their own being completed.

Right, so why isn't the Imperial Interdictor even halfway as strong as the Farragut then? The Interdictor needs a buff, just like the one the Farragut got in beta. Oh and the storyline says that there isn't supposed to be a capital ship in system yet, so the fact that the ship is at Lugh is clearly a bug. Also players should not be allowed to leech off a capital ship, especially when they do it in solo where there is no chance of destruction whatsoever.

I think the conflict zones need a rework anyways.. right now it doesnt feel like a war at all. just some static battles. It does not matter what so ever how many ships you kill. they just keep coming and coming. I would like a war to be all over a system. Conflict Zones that can actually be "won" or "lost" by the opposing factions. Depending on who wins the current Battle the conflict moves to a different part of the system. If one side is winning all the Conflict Zone it pushes the losing side all the way back to its homestation where there´s a last big fight right at the Station

David did an interview for Xbox Wired (I think it's called) saying the Lugh test worked, so this is a cover for this false statement. Kinda like a test to build a house, that keeps falling down, and FD sends in a wrecking ball. That way when it's over and has failed (like it has for three months or so) they can say "Well of course the house fell down, it was by design!" IMO anyway.

There's no way to get conclusive results on a test if you introduce outside elements that alter the composition of the test, unless the introduced elements are designed to force a desired outcome. The Lugh test is over. Smart move FD, well played.

So where is the capital ship - its not in any of the conflict zones, just checked. I have never seen one in game so headed over to Lugh....

after the 2 weeks the battle goals in LUGH will be active, we will have many many new "elite" commanders in this universe
maybe FD should introduce a second station in Founders World to take care of the flood of CMDR incoming soon

letting the cap ship do 99,9% of the damage and to give the CMDR the kill is just a huge fail in gamedesign
