Example: Lugh.
Maybe becouse FD is solo game with multiplayer features?
Maybe becouse FD is solo game with multiplayer features? I personaly never consider FD as MMO at all neverless what kind of attitional mutliplayer features it has
PvE groups are I-Win buttons in combat zones. It is very unfair allowing to play in solo or pve in global community goals where we have faction vs faction and players decide who win.
I play in open mode, fight with everyone, npc or commanders, often this is 1vs2 or 2vs3, sometimes i die and loose my ship. I am fighting, gaining a points for my faction.. it is hard but satisfactioning and there is a lot of FUN, and ... wait... there is some group of people who taking down every npc with their gimballed multicannons, much faster than me, because they 'do not waste a time to fight with cmdrs', drinking a tea with shooting, in solo and pve, and me and my faction do not have chances to complete community goal and win the war.
This is completely ridiculous and nonsense.
Example: Lugh.
Another example - transport community goal - there is no option to make a blockade in system for transport sources in other faction... because transporters will go to pve or solo...
Just yesterday, I had to withdraw hurt from a combat zone in which I was the only participant. So your assertion that conflict zones are only a challenge when there are players on the enemy team is demonstrably false.
So OK - i want to win the war. Everybody in faction will go to solo and everybody will melt NPC very fast. Epic multiplayer.
This is not about difficult. This is about logic.

Not. This proove only NPC are hard for You and You do not know how to deal with that situation.
There a few option.
1 - you can lure them and kill one by one
2 - you can wait a moment for green reinformences (about 30s to minute)

How is it about logic, stating "everybody" will go solo? When I join conflict zones, I am playing with and against other players... so, again, your assertion is demonstrably false.
I never get green reinforcements. Typical, that an open-play-is-harder-advocate flies with the automatic distress call enabled. I thought people played open because it was harder? Not. This proove only NPC are hard for You and You do not know how to deal with that situation.

1 - you can lure them and kill one by one (easy to do). Small ships at first, large at end. In meantime there green will arrive.
2 - you can wait a moment for green reinformences (about 30s to minute)
Jump in/out into paraller universe (other instance) is not an option. It is poor game mechanics.
When there is a lot other cmdrs on opposite side in In open we return to supercruise, bring a players to wing, organize and back for fight.
My thread was not about solo vs open. My thread was about war winning exploit and i-win button.... and now it is merged with black hole. Nobody care.
Not everyone wants PvP. Deal with it.

I play the game (in Mobius's group) to experience a smooth and gradual rise in my credit balance. I usually have Radio 4 on in the background, and am actively listening to the programmes. I loathe interdictions (even NPC ones), and would turn these off completely if possible. I have found a decent trade route where I almost never get interdicted by NPCs, and thanks to group play I never get interdicted by CMDRs.
I enjoy this. I find it relaxing.
I dislike having this routine affected in any way. Interdictions may be exciting, but I'm not looking for excitement in this game. I want to wind down in the evenings after a hard day at work.
What is pleasing to you is not going to please everyone. That's why people like different music, different foods, different political parties, etc. I'm happy to chat with other players, and happy to work with others when I feel like it, and happy for others to PvP when they like.
I am probably different from you. I like to play the way *I* enjoy. If open mode ever becomes compulsory, I will stop playing Elite.
Cheers, Phos.
