You should give it a try indeed.
To all Commanders, please help us with that goal. We currently haven't reached the first tier! We have 6 days left. It has been said in-game that success would flip Hartsfield and therefore the entire system. We can get the feds to lose despite their crushing war machine, let's do it!!

I managed to bag 90 mins. Awful timing as won't have access to my PC now till Sunday but it was great fun. Made a cool 4 million just wish I could do a full session and get the cash for my imperial clipper. Oh well glass half full etc

Pants. I am really jealous I could be making so much cash at the same time as having a great time on this!. I may get a spare hr on Thursday night finger s crossed.
Is this stuff doable in Solo? I ask, cause even inthe Mobius group, I run into bugs where I come up out of the hanger, and the station kills me. I have only died 6 times since before launch, and 4 of those are to that bug, so I don't play any kind of online now. (Yeah yeah, I know Solo is online, but a station has never KOSed me for no reason in Solo. Knock on wood.)
Second: I'm not really feeling the piracy angle of this. And, while I'm not a fan of the Feds, I started there and most of my various factions are Fed aligned. So, not to slight the very cool player driven thing going on here, but what can a Fed player (in Solo) do to make some money in this deal? Just hunt NPCs that are Hunting the cargo ship?
Either way, I'll head that way. I'm several hundred light years away, but I always miss this things, so I want to participate in one for a change! (Even if it might be for the wrong side!)

Of course you can do it in Solo. And it's not a Fed mission. And it's fun
due to the enormous bounty on my head I actually used solo mode for the first time ever to do this, every time I checked the conflict zones in open there were 8+players, it was a nightmare i'd have been ganged and destroyed instantly. As suicidal as it was I still wanted to participate in this goal because i'd been following the lugh progress since release so I ventured into solo to contribute.
Yes it is possible un Solo. Actually thats what I am doing since there are way yoo many feds Commanders around.
I just tried this and it's really fun and profitable. Makes a nice change of pace from shooting things. I would urge everyone to give it a go ... even if you favour the fed side, well, they're clearly going to win whatever happens so why not enjoy yourself on the side? It's not like the game punishes you for supporting both teams!
Ah, I see! The combat bonds are much better than the old 3K per kill!
I did get a little cocky, and kept after a Python a bit too long. He was at 10%, I almost had him! Till his friends jumped in. Heh...so, new ship, and lost about 100K in bonds. Oops. It is fun, but man, I see why people gear up with all energy weapons for these events!
I am contemplating hopping into Open though, just to witness the madness. Maybe that TerminatorStation Bug has been fixed?
So yeah...doing this in Open is silly. Only get credit if you get the final kill shot? nobody talking, no Wing invites, and oh, yeah, slow spawn rate on enemies as well? Yeah....back to Solo.

Excellent post, OP. I followed to the tee, but you forgot to mention that, in open, THE FEDS ARE FREAKING PLAYERS WITH BAD ASS SHIPS !
i could not get any close to the T9 during my 3 attempts at the beacon....Lugh was on fire tonite, there were Feds everywhere and people everywhere as well....died like 4 times and lost 2MM credits in rebuys...
And still, had lots of fun...I simply reject going to Solo for this mission...plus serious cmdrs are making the experienc a one to remember...the War in Lugh is bringinh real people together with a purpose and it is amazing....

You should wing up with some fellow Imper- erm I mean Freedom Fighters and form a wing. We cleared out a combat zone with 11 fed commanders in it today, and if you needed help, we could clear a convoy area as well.
Your reputation with the Feds will not suffer, and as for smuggling, just fly about 9km away from the station, find the slot, go full speed (no need to boost) directly at the slot and remember your docking permission at 7.5km. Just get into the station and dock as usual without being scanned, then sell your loot on the black market under contacts. If you want added security, equip a heat sink and make sure to use it once you are at around 3km or less to the station.
