My opinion is: disagree.

Making macros easier cheapens gameplay and game mechanics. I already push my Vulture way beyond where it was probably intended to go in game design because Voice Attack makes it easy to manage systems.

If I was the designer, I would randomize the tabs every time you opened the menu. Just to break macros.

There are other, much better ways to break macros than randomizing the tabs and screwing over everyone who doesn't use them.
stop trying to ruin other peoples fun. macros dont affect you directly if you choose not to use them.
Really? So when I fight in PVP with another CMDR who uses macros to change power distribution settings in 0.5 seconds, and it takes me 2-3 seconds, or more, it doesn't affect me?

I do use Voice Attack, because I refuse to choose to be at a disadvantage.
I have to agree with you. VA already gives a massive advantage but most players already use it. I don't want to have to keep buying third party software in order to remain competitive any more than I want to buy a HOTAS because everyone else uses one.
If I bind power settings to one of the many hat switches on my HOTAS setup, I can change power settings in 0.5 seconds. You want to also take away HOTAS setups and make everyone fly with mouse and keyboard? Might as well remove Rift and TIR support too...
I'm sorry, but that's like someone playing an fps and complaining that someone has a gaming mouse that allows them to react better. Buying expensive equipment that gives you an edge is a part of gaming and has been for a long time. Do you honestly expect fd to cancel rift support because it give someone an advantage over you? Either invest in similar gear or accept the disadvantage, because I know of NO game that has tried to balance their game for accessories as well as just the game. And nor should they.
