A problem I had when I first started with this is that you can't run multiple version of Office on the same OS.
And you can't run any mix of x86 and x64.

I actually had to reformat to fix the problems once I had installed office 2007 on the same windows as office 2013.
No amount of un-installing was able to clean up the registry properly.

So, hopefully you have save those update files somewhere safe !

It might be a great time to do a major spring cleaning to your hard drive.

Reformatting is not as hard or time consuming as it use to be and it will speed up you pc some :)
if you don't re-install all the crap you don't need right away lol

Good Luck and don't forget to back up your ED folder if you don't want to have to re-download it, and it's two folders under:

C:\Users\**YOUR NAME**\AppData\Local

I have Office 2007 32Bit(registered) and Office 2013 64Bit(Testversion, not activated) running on the same OS and don't have any Problems, so its possible. ;)
But you know, every System is different and if it's Microsoft you can't say "It's running on my System so it will run on your System", that's Microsoft.... :)

Hello again,
Been out of the picture for the last few days what with life.

I've just re-installed completely due to seeing release f and g now being available.
I grabbed the 1.37 non-installer, the latest OCR, and version 1.37g, trusted the folder in excel.
However I seem to be missing something, and having read through the postings, it might be something to do with the database files, any ideas.
This happens once I've selected 26 ofthe 28 stations and press the import button.

I don't have anything else to go on as nothing else came up in the process of doing this. Is there something I'm missing from release f?

You should comment on this Microsoft support page then and tell them how you did it !
I'm sure many other users would love to know:

https://support.office.com/en-US/Ar...3f9-a187-b78c513788bf?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

because Microsoft clearly say :

"Make sure all versions of Office are either 32-bit or 64-bit. You can’t have a mix of both."

They do say it is possible to have multiple version like 2010 and 2013 if you install them in the order of release.
But my experience with it has been nightmarish !

Manually updating prices

Another oddity, I tried to manually update the price of a commodity an when I entered the value for IN STOCK,
TCE added 3 zeros at the end of it. so entering 82324 and clicking in another box, the IN STOCK then showed 82,324,000.
If I entere 0 and and clicked in any another box, I showed 0.
So I tried entering 1, and it then showed 1,000.

I just scanned the page and saved.

It solved the problem.

Otherwise, I've had another, very nice, error free evening ! :)

The V1.37f version brings a new file (of course, not really new, but has a different file name) TCE.mdb_clear with it. Please copy it into your DB folder and delete the TCE.db_tmp.

It is WAD, because Stocks are entered in thousands.

No update today, my changes to the TCE core requires many changes to functions and panels, so i need a little more time to bring it all together.

A great tool, really awesome piece of work. Bought Office 365 subscription to use it and it was worth it. For the first time in months I'm excited again to just zoom around gathering data, knowing every station I add to the database brings me closer to finding a good route.
I did have a minor problem though. Registering coordinates for a new star system was giving me error 13 until I changed decimal delimiter from comma to dot in Windows regional settings. I'm not a fan of making system-wide tweaks just to get one app to work properly, so if it's not a big pain to fix, please make it take the delimiter into account.

On a side note...

Eventure: I'm not happy, you've cost me £300...

Spent a long weekend doing a mix of roles after returning from a 7 week exploration stint.

Forgot how useful your programme is. However, I've also discovered rare trading, bounty hunting and running the blockades.

Flying with a keyboard and mouse combo does not work well with TCE. Holding down the mouse button whilst firing and heading upwards will often leave you suddenly flying in a straight line, waiting for your pants to be pulled down as TCE grabs the focus.

You've removed the HIDE button in the Options panel which almost stopped this from happening so frequently, so you have left me with the only option.

I've dumped some cash on a joystick and throttle set. As my desk is not huge, I've 'HAD' to get a trackball too.

Admittedly, I have been looking for a reason to get these for a while now, so all blame can not be directed your way. I'd say a 40/60 split in your favour.

So, once again, thanks for all your hard work.

You might want to redo these blame calculation
while taking into account the Hide TCE keybind in the Option menu
that was put in place exactly to prevent these scenarios :)

Hello and welcome,

i cant replicate your error, no error here, no matter if i use a dot or a comma as a delimiter. Both is working here. So please tell me excactly, what you have done to get this error. Perhaps you can give me a screenshot before and after the error appears. Thank you.

Welcome back,

good to hear of your improvement. All i wanted is to improve mankind.

I read, you had problems with the hotkey, thats bad, because i cant really find this issue. I will add a clear keyboard buffer function, after pressing the key, to the next version. Perhaps it could help.

Another thing I find weird but might be WAD,

Pressing the key bind to hide TCE works great,

but

The STAR SYSTEM panel pop up even when TCE is hidden.

even restoring and hiding TCE again or hiding it after the panel as poped, will hide everyting but the STAR SYSTEM panel.

I'll try to change the system setting back to comma and see if I run into this issue again when I get home. For now I'm sitting at work looking at Excel window (which is my main tool btw), still amazed by what you managed to do with it. My hat's off to you sir.

Not to be difficult but I've often seen supply at less then a thousand !
The station I am at now has a supply of 4 Liquor and 575 Tobacco.

It doesn't matter because I can scan the page and get the proper data in.
But if I were to try to put these in manually I would have to input a minimum of 1000 or each !
Writhing 4 would give me 4000 which would be even more inaccurate.
It makes a big difference when you show up with a T9 thinking to fill up you hold and the station has 4 instead of 1000 !

Ah, could I refer the honourable gentleman to my bug report previously, with video of the flashing panels after setting the hot key function...

Oups, didn't realize you were one and the same.

Yeah, then I understand you perfectly,
I'm having a really hard time restraining myself from buying the X55 Rhino.
Had I also experienced the hotkey flashing bug, it just might have tipped the balance lol :)

Now that it's a done (and well justified) deal, I hope you enjoy it to the fullest !

Pop Up causing Crash.

Sorry Eventure, I just found out the hard way that the pop up panel
ADD STAR SYSTEM RECORD
also opens up while in supercruise, before actually arriving in the new system
and so causes the same ED crash as the STAR SYSTEM info panel.

So if you could apply the change you were planning for STAR SYSTEM to both panels,
that would be greatly appreciated !

Not a minimum of thousands, i was not accurately enough to mention, that in thousands mean, that all values, that are entered, are multiplied with 1000. So its possible to enter 4 unit, like 0,004.

Thanks for the feedback, i will do that. The summary is will be delayed for 10-15 secs. It will be maunally openable throught the cartography, if you want to disable the pop up.

Need a little more testing here for the next release, but it looks good.

Very nice thank you for the explanation and looking forward to the next release while really enjoying this one ! :)

So I've tested it again and there's definitely an issue with the decimal delimiter. When set to comma in Windows regional settings, in causes TCE to return Error 13 "type mismatch" when I try to save a new system's coordinates. To reiterate: the error happens when I try to save the calculated coordinates, not when I input distances to reference systems; those fields do indeed take both dot- and comma-delimited values and process them correctly regardless of that, but the resulting coordinate fields apparently don't since they contain dots and can't be manually edited.
