Opinion needed - ASP outfit for noob explorer

Hi Commanders,

I was thinking about starting my 3301 Nebulae Tour once war in Lugh is over. I have more or less 20m to spend on an ASP for exploration.
My current outfit is available here (thank you EDshipyard): http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=60g,0Wg0Wg,2-4s6u7_6u6u8S8I,52W7TC0Ke0KempT2jw2UI
Since it is the first time I go exploring, I would love to get advice from experimented explorers, especially regarding:
1) Weapons:I chose none as I cannot hope to win in an exploration ship anyway;
2) Shields: they seem useful to me, especially in asteroids' belts and on the way back to go docking, or to evade pirates;
3) Heat sink: good to prevent overheats, but can they be used in super cruise when getting burnt by a star for instance?
4) Auto-field maintenance: is 2x3B sufficient or would you go for more?

I hope some of you can help and share their feedback. Thank you in advance :)

PS: I will be back with tons of pictures, my tour will bring me to 36 Nebulae/Dark Region.

Weapons: no real point in bringing them, but can't hurt to have a bit of teeth to kick off that interdicting sidewinder on your way back
Shields: Yes, essential, I would even go for a higher rated if you can afford it (C or B)
Heat sink: You have two more utility slots, fill them :)
AFMU: I've been to Sgr A* and haven't even used one charge so far, so two sounds plenty unless you're planning on going to the opposite rim

I'd fit a higher rated scoop. They have no weight anyway, and higher rated is faster scooping.. Once you've done 2000+ scoops, you'll want it faster.

Thank you for your reply.

For the shields I am concern about the weight: 5D is only 8 tons, while 5A is 20 tons, I lose lot of range (about 1.2 ly). Are they so essential?
Concerning heat sinks can I use them in SC, like if I have an incident while fuel scooping?
AFMU do not weight a single gram so I thought I should bring some since I can afford it!
Finally I will upgrade the fuel scoop if, as you said, I will have to refuel so many times.

A fast scoop is the best defense. When you are leaving and entering the bubble you want to get past potential interdictors as quickly as possible. There is nothing to gain with a fight - and a great deal to lose. If you have 10 million in exploration credits, there is no point (I don't think) in taking any risks with maniacs. A fast scoop means you can skip through systems until you reach either the black or your home.

What about 4A shields? They'll be stronger than 5D, and only 10T? I use 4A on my Vulture for combat, so they should be fine for exploration (?)

EDIT: You can tell how sure I am about this by the number of question marks! Others might have more insight on hull mass considerations, but I think it's valid.

Plus with faster scooping you spend less time close to the sun and risking heat damage.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.
After reviewing your comments I decided to go for the following outfit, which seems to me to be a good compromise between jump range (up to 37ly) and safety (shields, heat sink and AFMU).
Hopefully the war in Lugh will be over soon, 1.3 released, and then I can leave civilization for my journey. I have a lot to explore :)

Back to my outfit, can anyone tell me please whether shields help against heat or some sort of damage explorers can encounter during their travel? Cheers :)

Shields are useless.

I took a cargo rack, just incase I found something.
