Like many others I do not get this play style either.
It mostly is just victimizing some new players in defenseless sideys who are trying to get to grips with the game.
Personally I would not be able to enjoy the game this way. It is not how I want to interact with my fellow players.
If anything you might have convinced a bunch of players to go solo for a long time.

you have right, I told somewhere on forum that something in game pushed me for long time in solo, it was time when I was with cobra, got killed by 3 cmdr's well no problem at all, but did not wanted to risk anymore and gone solo for month or so was in solo.
I've been in the position of the Sidewinder/lowbie guy and it's not fun. Normally it doesn't bother me but sometimes when you've had a bad day at work or feeling down you just want to chill. Then some git comes and ganks you! I'm sure I've killed someone unfairly that wasn't a challenge but try to put yourself in the other guys place. Imagine he's new to the game you don't want to drive people away from the community.

p.s just watched video , my mistake almost whole fight , flight assistance off , lol lol , was wondering why I cant handle ship properly
It also had a lot to do with the fact that I was using veritcal and lateral thrust while keeping my speed in check
