Pirates V Griefers

The CODE have always been an anti griefing group. Yes we are pirates, but we do not and never will indiscriminately kill innocent pilots for fun. When we interdict our targets, we ask them to stop and release some of their cargo to us. We only want a small percentage, we want traders to prosper along side us. We also offer the Travel Pass as a way of making a single payment to us for a set amount of time and it has become very popular. In return, we give a bit of excitement to traders journeys. We also try to keep independent pirates and murderers out of the systems in which we operate, making it a safer place for traders to visit. Of course, if a pilot decides to run, or shoots at us, we will most likely destroy them.

There have however been reports that griefers from The Cosmic State and their allies have become more active recently. The leader of the previously unknown group Adles Armarda went public and suggested that they should murder traders indiscriminately around the lave cluster and then tell the victims that they are members of the CODE. (he quickly retracted this statement and deleted the post). However If this should ever happen, we need to know the names of the fake code members so that we can take action against them .

The COSMIC griefers not only take pleasure in murdering traders they video it for their own amusement . Take a look at one of their disturbing video.

This must stop, and we are the people to stop it.

We have now opened up our bounty board on the site. This was previously an internal list with bounties set by CODE members against our most wanted targets. We have decided now to let everyone know just who these terrorists are. We are also inviting bounty hunters to register with us and claim the bounties on these terrorists.

We will not stop hunting these murderers down until they agree to stop killing innocent trader for fun. The Alliance security forces seem unable to stop Ram Killers, but we will. We have 150 members, some of whom are the most feared pilots in the universe , their mission is to take down these terrorists again and again until they get the message. Stop grieving and you will stop dying.

In recent days the code fought against another group who were suposedly going to decimate us. We got wind of it and payed them a visit. The result was mass carnage. They lost 42 ships to our 2. A list of their casualties can be seen in the comments section of the video.

There is a rule about naming and shaming people on the forum but it does not include groups. It's a grey area if naming people on a wanted list on an external list is actually naming and shaming.

To the OP - "We have now opened up our bounty board on the site. " - the list is not visible.

That's not what I meant. If they are going to create a list on an external site of people who they wish to hunt down, I hope they require proof before adding people to the list. Otherwise I could simply name anyone I don't like and they would be added to the list and hunted down by these guys. It's another form of greifing.

Griefing inside stations could easily be fixed by simply dropping the timer down to approximately 90 seconds to dock.
I mean, who takes any more than 30 seconds tops to dock their ship when inside the station!?

Hmm... I edited my quote when I saw I had mis-read your post but it did not remove the quote, sorry. Will try to remove it again.

edit: done

What has got up particulary annoyed is the fact that we are accused of griefing by the griefers in the game that we dislike so much.
They make youtube video of them Ram Killing innocent traders for their own amusement. This has to stop, they are driving more players into solo mode.
Another annoying point is the fact that the group leader of another group posted on reddit that they should kill innocent traders for no reason and then tell these traders that they are CODE members. We have a board on our forum set up to take information about anyone posing as a code member and all complaints will be properly dealt with.

Griefing traders will simply drive them into solo play thus spoiling the enjoyment of piracy for both trader and honorable pirates. - What can I do to assist in this crusade?

Fair enough, as long people provide proof (ideally video footage). Or people could abuse your system for greifing purposes, which I'm sure you don't want.

+rep. And this is the way how it should works.
I think a pirate society should declare a war to griefers.
Griefers kill not for money, but only from one reason - because they can, and they have no consequences. There is many good pvp'ers through pirates. If they help to deal with griefers i think traders will not move to group/solo and be open for dropping a some cargo for a pirates.

Piracy brings a lot of good content do gameplay. Pirates shoud be not much greedy and traders should know it is better to give a small percent than die and lost everything... and have a some protection ;) against griefers.

Could you explain why the "griefer" video on youtube is hosted by The CODE then?
To me this looks you fullfill both roles.

We interdict a lot of players, most are harmless traders with little or worthless cargo. We have no interest in ruining their day, infact on a few occasions we've actually given them a bit of cargo (taken from richer pickings of course) . If we do find a rich trader with plenty of valuable cargo, we just ask for a cut of their profits and in return we don't bother them . We also try to keep the areas in which we operate free from griefers so that the traders can feel a bit safer about playing in open play.

When we discovered this video, we stole it as evidence as we are pretty sure if we simply linked to it , the video would be removed and there would be no proof that this group were in fact cold blooded terrorists.

True. This is the clue of piracy. More profitable is let trader to live, because you will be able to get a % a few times from him. Even if he run from you, he will back with conviction than he can do that again, and you will have an opportunity to get his cargo again.

The CODE have always been an anti grieving group.

You probably mean "griefing" = "causing grief". Whereas "grieving" = "mourning" (feeling sad).

We also offer the Travel Pass ... it has become very popular.

Really? Numbers please.

In return, we give a bit of excitement to traders journeys.
Of course, if a pilot decides to run, or shoots at us, we will most likely destroy them.

Evading or trying to escape a single pirate can be exciting and fun. Interdiction by a wing of 4 CODE Clippers, FDLs and Vultures, not so much. Seriously, you need 4 heavily armed combat ships to tackle a single trader?

As a trader, submissively complying to a pirate's demands is no fun at all. The excitement is in the chase and trying to escape. CODE's tactics prevent that and are therefore detrimental to the enjoyment of the game.

We also try to keep independent pirates and murderers out of the systems in which we operate, making it a safer place for traders to visit.

I prefer independent pirates to your organized criminal gang.

There have however been reports that griefers more active recently.

I haven't noticed that, but go on...

This must stop, and we are the people to stop it.

Go for it! Fight other PvP players, Good. Doing something useful. Stops you being a nuisance.

In recent days the code fought against another group who were suposedly going to decimate us. The result was mass carnage.

I watched the twitch stream of a (non-CODE) combat player. Whereas previously they all wanted to kill CODE (and vice versa), now they seem to be friends. I'm glad to hear you say that this isn't always the case.

We are the CODE and we are Dangerous !

Well, 4 combat ships against an unarmed trader is certainly dangerous for the trader. And rather boring too.

Hello forum goers! This is CMDR S!LK, leader of Adle's Armada.

We don't have a presence here on the ED forums as we are very active on the ED Reddit and have been for some time. Please note that the CODE have been extorting players in a mafia sense (see: paid "protection") for a fee since beta times. Adle's(Ay-dull's) Armada [AA] is a Federally aligned special forces group where All of the members are undercover and I act as the leader/public face of the organization.. We're often referred to as the "Illuminati of the Federation"

Please see some links of our exploits:

When we finally became public after months of undercover work:

AND NOW:

About this CODE in Lave , here's the truth.

CODE has been hassling rare trade players in Lave since the beginning, [AA] acted on fighting between Cosmic State and CODE and decided to make a power play with CS, simply because CS wasn't interested in Lave. Here is the official post from CMDR Kudach about our Operation, which DOESN'T invole killing anyone except wanteds, known CODE members in Lave.

Also, Aliance members are strongly encouraged to help out in this as well, since it's their space:

If anyone is interested in this, please PM me (preferably on Reddit), but I do sometimes check E:D too. I can also post our extensive KOS list.

CODE are space trash pirates, dont trust em!

pirates, griefers, i don't care; all of them die horribly in my sights

Got to love forum warriors :D

CODE guys, you are quite some distance from my neck of the woods so I'll slowly make my way over to where you guys hang out and either join you or at the very least, join this crusade against these griefers who are driving traders away from open play.
