Why isn't this in the game?

Your whining isn't helping either. Do you have any suggestions about missions to improve them? I am a post commander with the Federation so I think its safe to say I have done a good amount of missions. I have never came across a "broken" one like i seen in beta. As I said before all you are doing is whining and throwing your toys unless you have some real constructive way to improve the systems you don't like.
You mean like the thread you're currently posting in, where people were suggesting improvements to the cargo mechanics/game economy before you started criticising everyone with any complaints about the game?

Yeah maybe we should start something like that.

Do you have a link?

So back in the old days, if people didn't like a game they stopped playing it and moved on to another.

In this day and age, if people don't like a game they assume that the developers are either incompetent or evil and yet they still stick with the game and cry about how it should change!

Does anyone know what happened in between?

Everything else there is to be said about this topic I have already said in my previous post.

Actually I did quit the game and would've asked a refund if I could. I got more and more annoyed by how this is a single player game with ghost multiplayer people that only affect my world by being objects. They have no influence on economy in any way. I'm extremely disappointed at this especially since it was shown Elite Dangerous would have Multiplayer on a much deeper level.

As of it stands now Elite is, to me, a hide and seek space game where 20 minutes of searching for a target has to unveil into a climax battle which isn't so very exciting at all.

Examples of why I lost interest:

-Mining: Too slow, Tedious and profit is extremely low compared to other activities. Teaming with friends as miner is also ridiculous. You can't trade/share profit properly. Asteroids are different for each player in terms of Metal/Mineral type and whether or not the asteroid is empty. When 1 member gets attacked by a NPC pirate the other team mate gets a fine for attacking a pirate resulting in either a fine or the police killing him next time they scan him. Trust me it happened twice before we finally gave up on Mining all together.

-Trading: Again this is such a fake environment to trade in it's not even enjoyable. All you have to figure out is the best route and your gold. There's no influence by other players it's just you and an AI controlled way of increasing the purchase prices which go down after a while again... Go Rare trading and you net 600k-1 million an hour easy. But again this is not even funny anymore when you're teamflying with a mate for better security or whatever and you can't share profit (Yes again. It's an important part of an online community!) or what about both going in a station at the same time and I can buy 24 Altairian Skins but my mate can only buy 4.

-Traveling/Exploring: After a lot of jumping, supercruising and wandering about in the galaxies I find it the most irritable thing to be it's all an Illusion. Every time you jump you basically jump in a different map and every time you leave supercruise you go to a smaller map. This removes the actual distance you fly. There isn't any actual distance. http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDanger...lite_dangerous_mythbusters_is_it_possible_to/ Link for an interesting read on that part.

-Combat: Combat is pretty fun and this is where you find out the game's core. But again this is not quite what I expected it to be. Looking at other space sims I've played I miss a lot of diversity in both weapons and ships. Utilities are lacking and I find it hard to believe we only have a choice in so little firepower. What bothers me the most is how slow the ships react. In other games I can easily turn my ship 180 by shutting down engine thrust and push thrust on 1 wing. And this goes fast and makes a game interesting. Basically like they showed in their release trailer twice. Unless we all go sidewinder mode it will be a merry-go-round most of the time...

-Supercruise: We all love to boost through space, fly from star to star but it kinda gets old after a while. Not being able to properly go to a station in supercruise bothers me. The fact that even tho I say push 100% engine it stays in the blue area and often even decelerate. And when I decide to go to 0% engine it takes a really long time to stop. When you find a player or something you shoot by before you can properly act. What bothers me the most is the 1,000,000Ls I have to travel from the Star to a station and it takes freaking 20 minutes to get there. Even tho there's another star right next to it.

All in all I enjoyed the game for a while until I started noticing these things and it began eating on me. Now I don't even bother playing it because it has no actual value to me anymore. I can easily go on hauling trips until I get the Lakon type 9 and then go on shorter but faster cash runs. But for what? There's no goal in it. I don't have to brag to my friends about my awesome ship or supply a station with meds because they ran low. No, it's only like that in my world. We're all just playing in the shadow of each other. We can see and even touch other people but the rest has no influence.

Again this is MY experience with this game and the reason I stopped playing.

What did I like about the game? A lot, but not enough to keep interested. I liked the Huds a lot. I really felt in control of my ship and it's surroundings. I'm in love with the sounds of the game. The way the engines roar, the blast you make when going into a jump. The voice "AI" is also pleasant to have. Too bad it's not as extensive as Voice Attack (Which is not compatible for non english windows btw making it, again, useless for me).

I might jump into the game again after a good patch update that makes it interesting to see what's changed but to the core I'm leaving because the Multiplayer is one of the most faked multiplayers I've played. It's just as bad as Guild Wars claimed it was an MMO.

I agree and walk on the same way really.
Actually refund is quite possible if you are going for it: http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/wales...t_is_meant_by_not_of_satisfactory_quality.htm

I purchased a digital copy and to that it's not possible I'm afraid to refund. I'm just going to cut my loss with this. I'm sad because I thought ED was one of the games that would have it all or at least a lot. But the Multiplayer in this game is what's destroying it right now. My hope is Star citizen but I'm skeptical about that game as well :( Wish all those good devs would just work together and make 1 beast of a game for everyone instead of chunks that just not have what it takes.

Refunds should work on digital copies as well - they are also products on the market involving the same act of purchase like everything else. However the official advertising gets more attention and role in the transaction because of the digital output - and that's where a correct list of features should be essential but mostly missing (hence the dissatisfactory in lots of cases).
I only asked a full refund once for a digital product (it was a pretty expensive flight sim add-on) because it wasn't satisfactory and not up to release standards and I've been refunded the next day without question. It works and should work like that.

I play a lot of games that have an in-game economy. Some of those are computer generated economies but most are controlled by the players. I thought at first that Elite would have this same concept. Of players controlling the prices but I guess I'm wrong. And not only wrong but really disappointed by that.

Why would players control the prices? In the Elite universe we represent just a minor, very, very minor part of what is going on in total. I do not mind players being able to influence prices in a certain area, but complete control of the economy seems very weird to me.

Creating a team of mining vessels with security is not really an option since you can't even trade credits with each other. Prices are different per person on the same station and gathering ore is becoming a tedious task with that cargo scoop making it the main reason to team up in the first place.

I agree completely that the current mining system is not very interesting and have made proposals myself on several occasions to improve upon it.
Keep in mind that FD already stated that mining would get an overhaul. The current system is not final at all. Perhaps in the future we will be able to create a 'wing' of miners and equally share mining profits. I think it is only logical that the current wings system gets developed further in that direction.
I believe the emphasis for the player should not be on scooping ore, but on prospecting. Searching for good ore can be made into a very cool mechanic (Limit Theory is trying to do that). It is always more exiting to hunt for good mining locations than scooping bits of rock. The scooping could be done with scooping drones for example (like in Hard War).

I don't know about the different prices, but prices are not fixed. They change, even for the same person.

I believe there are big changes yet to come and perhaps the devs even agree with some of the points you've made, but in the end they will make the game they want to make.

Prices are a fixed thing. Just go into a station with a friend and you'll notice different prices and stock for both of you. If you hauled more than him prices fluctuate a lot. In a player supply controlled world it would be the same for everyone that visits the station. One of the reasons why people mined in EVE is because it was needed. If no one mined there wouldn't be anything to make/trade. Just like in our economy, if no one cuts wood there won't be wooden chairs. Same goes for EVE and that's why economically supply and demand was a real thing. Maybe they had some tweaks here and there by an AI but it was all player controlled. The prices and stock. Mining was just as profitable as any other job and didn't feel as tedious as ED's system.

When you do something in ED it actually has no influence on any other player at all. The only way you can influence him/her is blowing up their ship. That's what bothers me. I don't want a SP game with somewhat Guild Wars styled MP in it. (I'm comparing this game with a 10 year old release in terms of the horrible Multiplayer! They should be ashamed of themselves, seriously...)

What's the use of patterns on your ship for example? Who will see it? You? Nope. Maybe that other dude that is fighting you? Nope. Then who sees it?! No one does. You might notice it once in a while when you go through outfitting. It's a fake tactic to make you feel like there is customization but there isn't. You want more? How about a green ship? It will cost you a few real life credits though. Oh you got a new ship? Here buy another one for that one as well. No sorry our paint jobs are 1 model only.

What's wrong with killing the engines mid flight, full side thrusters to do a 180 and fire on your enemy? Well the answer is ED has no gravity engine like let's say Freelancer. (which is btw a 2003 release, 12 years old).
They did show it in their Trailer tho. It was possible there, but the actual gameplay makes it look like pac man game compared to what it could've been. Not the fast paced action we've seen so far...

These are just a few examples of choices made by the Devs that seriously sink low. I will keep up hope but at the moment the game is on my :D:D:D:Dpile. It was initially fun until it came to light how fake it was. It's like finding out the truth about Santa.

Yeah that would be weird, but you know what would be even weirder? If NOBODY would affect any prices, not even simulated traders, kind of like now.
