[ANNOUNCEMENT] Win an Nvidia Geforce Titan Black in our in-game Scavenger Hunt

There's an obvious workaround for the Open Play restriction. Find the cards, buy five, go into Solo, fly to Godel Ring, switch to Open and jettison them. Five of your waiting mates scoop them in Open, dart into the station and flog them. Everyone will be trying this so the only place to pirate a canister will be immediately outside, or even inside, the station (who cares about a few fines when there's £900 at stake?)

If what FD were hoping for was a totally chaotic shootin' and scoopin' free-for-all inside Godel Ring then congratulations, because that's what you're going to get. Is this the "rare and meaningful" PvP that David was talking about?

Hmm. So this is a "competition" that's effectively only open to those who have (or can afford) excellent combat ships, and are good at PVP.

It doesn't affect me, I'm 12kly away anyway, but I'm not very comfortable with that concept.

OTOH, fun trolling opportunity for somebody who doesn't want the prize:

1. Buy it in a Sidewinder or Hauler or whatever.
2. Travel to near Godel's Ring in solo, to invalidate the claim
3. Slowly supercruise through the destination system
4. Watch the pirates fight over the goods.....
5. Chortle privately :)

godel has no black market? ahaha typical fdev oversight ^^

I bet they only allowed it to be "abandoned" from cargo hold so it retains it's IFF code as legal tender.

You can still win if stolen. Read the wording. You just need to do everything in open play. Stolen or not makes no difference.

So... US players who are stuck at work since it's the middle of the day.. gggggggg
Sorry, but considering how US players have been acting in other games with competitions that have timezone wise favored them, I cannot really feel that this is unfair in any remote way.

You canNOT sell a stolen item in commodities market. There may be NPC pirates around and CMDR's trolling just to have fun, but it is not possible to steal it from someone and sell it at Godel Ring to be able to win in the competition.

Recently I've noticed that any stolen cargo can be jettisoned and collected and it stops to be stolen :) Military plans were worth 40k but if you could be bothered to jettison them and collect back they were worth 57k each :)

Yeah according to some sources the station has no black market so they probably just added one in a silent patch

Clarification needed on the stolen issue.
If it can't be stolen then it rewards smugglers in silent running, if it can it rewards pirates.

that is a pretty severe bug that should be reported...

Probably a silly question, but is the graphics card a Titan Black or a Titan x? I ask because the titan x is the newer one
