[ANNOUNCEMENT] Win an Nvidia Geforce Titan Black in our in-game Scavenger Hunt

I first read about this in GalNet in the game. At first, it sounded like an advertisement and it ticked me off. "Oh no, not ads in the news..."

But its another competition. Something I was hoping would happen. What a relief :)

So, its on like donkey kong. Its OWN :D

Entrants must have transported the prototypes under the Pilots Federation rules of 'open play' to be eligible to win.’
The most craziest ive head! You're now basically saying to all pirates, go camp Godel Ring. If you got anything smaller than Anaconda you probably wont make it - and even if you have, then wings of pirates will attack you (once they scan you). If you lose such a prize then it would be heart breaking. I guess combat-logging would have to be done, as im sure people wont be willing to lose such a prize. Maybe you shouldn't of put an timer on it, as it would give people time to organize a wing (if it really needs to be open).

If the game still stutters on the Titan Black then I'm not interested.

Repped for clever use of sarcasm.

Stutter is most likely network related rather than just graphical. No stutter on any of the demo machines at trade shows but players with titans already have still reported stuttering :p

I didnt read every post in the thread yet but what about combat logging? for expample when i attack someone whos got a titan black in his cargo hold and he logs out before i can shoot his cargo hatch open, will he be disqualified?

^ This

The temptation to combat log when you've only got one of them in your hold will be immense.

Most of the time just doing it helps, usually there are windows where there are no players, oh and remember, only you know where it is!! Go get another one!

Awesome.

Just one thing though.

Are there any rules against: "Telling 3 of your friends where they are" when you find them?

I mean, there are lone rangers out there and also people in guilds.

Yes, I think it would have been better to have one each at five different stations. The way it's structured now there'll probably be one group of friends who get lucky, rather than five distinct players.

This is fun. I'm trying to decide whether to jump to the system it needs to be delivered to so I can watch. This is when the Vulture will live up to it's name. :-D

Someone should set up live feed from Ededleen system.
It will be interesting to see when (if) someone appears with mentioned rare goods.

Sorry, but considering how US players have been acting in other games with competitions that have timezone wise favored them, I cannot really feel that this is unfair in any remote way.

Of course you wouldn't since it favors you. No one ever objects when that's the case. Now you're just as guilty as the ones you claim wronged you. I have never favored this kind of race competition for this very reason, though perhaps I have benefitted, it's hard to say since I've never won anything. But in this case, I'm guaranteed not to.
