Help me find all the Government Descriptions

Greetings Ladies, Gentlemen, Commanders All.

As you may or may not know, in the status screen on the right hand panel you can read a blurb about the various system governments.
It seems that each combination of Government type and Faction Allegiance has its own little blurb.

For example Alliance Communist Factions vs independent Communist Factions

There seems to be quite a lot of inconsistency in these government types and with the galaxy map (and the HUD). Not sure if this is by design or not but seems odd.

I think Alliance anarchy is ''Freeman''?
And I think Independent confederacy is ''Venturist'' like the federation one. I'm not sure, however.

Thank you very much all, especially Undecided's sacrifice.

Now to find the Alliance Freemen and Independent Venturists

I have rumours of Imperial Anarchists too

Huh. I wonder what makes Alliance communists so different from independent ones. I mean, first pic is reasonable, and second one is both semi-religious and sarcastic.

Has anyone actually looked into what the effect (if anything) of different government types might have on the various economies in the game? I didn't realise the different factions had different names for the governments...

Let me help you: Four legs good, two legs bad. (Although wings count as legs too...)

That didn't help at all. What's so different between indeps and alliance of indeps that lets indep communists be all good but alliance of indeps communists turn into space democrats?

<sigh> It's a nod in the direction of Animal Farm... I assume (terrible to do, I know) you know about Animal Farm? It's basically a commentary on Communist Russia??? No???

That's what i called "sarcasm". Also,

>Communist Russia

What? I see you don't know much about communism since it was never built in Russia, neither officially nor unofficially.

Now tell me - i have to ask this question for the 3rd time - what makes alliance communists so different from normal independent communists? What exactly turns them into capitalists' wet dream?

And what did we learn from this? :p
*runs away*
Just because you have two screens doesn't mean you're looking at both. :(

The mood of the person writing the description.

I'm serious! If I was writing paragraph sized soundbites all day you can bet my snark level would start to rise. Also Orwell references are all the rage these days.

On my way there now, this is Brilliant chaps!
Plan to have everything type up this weekend

I cant rep you again Undecided

Guys what do we think about these government types having different names depending on their allegiance? Why should they only be different in the right-hand UI panel when everywhere else (i.e. the system map and the left-hand side of the HUD) uses the regular government type? Is it a good thing or not? It must be confusing for new players - heck I've been playing since launch and I find it confusing. I don't like this lack of consistency of data in the game - same with the grouping of the commodities for example (though that's not as important as this is).

I am cataloging not critiquing, but I see the descriptions as an elaboration hence why it is in a second level description.
The are descriptors of their mode of activity within their government type rather than what government type they are, so not suitable as descriptors on their own on the system or Galaxy map.

Sure, but it seems to me that if you've gone to the trouble of having the descriptors displayed in the UI panels, then the actual government type (for each faction) should also be displayed somewhere in the HUD, rather than having to go into the system map.

Anyway thanks for compiling this, it's going to be useful.
