Newcomer / Intro I lost my cargo space!

While at a station I attempted to add cargo slots so I went to Outfitting-Internals and attempted to purchase what I believed to be additional space. I now have no cargo slots at all. What went wrong and how do I fix it?

Any internal compartment slot can be used as a cargo slot. ONLY internal slots can be used for cargo slots.

Its a Sidewinder. Basic starter setup

Ok, I have one Shields and two scanners listed. Thats all

I recommend you go to the website below and configure your ship how you think you want it. It will show you your cargo space at the bottom and your jump range at the top right. It sounds like you swapped some cargo racks for other stuff.

Yup, I think I somehow replaced my cargo slot with an extra scanner. So how do I fix this?

Go back to outfitting, select the slot that has a scanner you don't want(probably the one furthest up the list) then select it. You should get a list of things you want to buy. Pick the largest cargo rack you can find and afford.
