This is a great tool! Nothing else even comes close. Great work Slopey!


I'm having a small issue with the radius search. I think it worked ok earlier, but I didn't know what I was doing really. Right now, its taking hours to complete a search. I've tried restarting the app and my pc. I'm searching within 200 LY, round trip, with a unit profit between 2000-5000 (it seems to use this number for trip profit). I'm at about 20% now, after an hour, with 116 results. Any suggestions?

Reduce the range, 200 LY encompasses many hundreds of systems. Also clear down data you don't need (i.e which is aged - if it's over 24 hours old it's probably inaccurate anyway except in very low traffic systems) - set the auto-time data removal in options to keep your DB current, or use the "clear down" button to dump your data set and get only current records (or restart to get the last 48 with an empty dataset).

A radius search searches for any system within (with your critera) 200LY of where you are, then searches for every system within 200LY of that to find a route - that's potentially a lot of searches. 200LY is such a large distance that you'll likely get 200+ systems within that range, then for each of them there could be 200+ potential destinations, each with around 30 commods. (200*30)^2 is a lot of checking....

I think the DB was the problem. I cleared it, and restarted the app. It's now taking only 5 minutes or so.

Oddly, the option to do a radius search has disappeared. I can only do an any/any search. I'm not finding any results in the 2000 - 5000 range now either. I thought 1000 was the magic number for profit. That would make a round trip 2000. Am I missing something else? Only 342 systems, is that right?

You can only do a radius search if you're at a system for which the BPC has coordinates. If not, it doesn't know where you are, so can't search by a radius....

Also, most profit runs are below 2000 cr. I've never seen anything higher than 2500 generally but they do exist (but they're not likely to be on the BPC as people don't input the data for those stations). I wouldn't expect the BPC to return very much on a > 2000 < 5000 search. Set the lower limit to something like 800 and the upper limit to < 3000 to remove any spurious commod values.

I hadn't changed stations at all. A few log in's and restarts fixed the radius issue though.

I see now. I thought the Unit Profit range was round trip, and that I should make 1000-2000 per direction. That's why I was using that setting. Better results now!

A few pages back, someone suggested a separate setting for radius and range. I really like the idea. I wouldn't mind traveling 200 LY to find a good trade route that was 15-30 LY between systems. I know this can be done by filtering the results (which is awesome!), but, as you said it's a lot of searching for the system to do at first (potentially 400 LY from position as opposed to 230 LY)

I don't mean to criticize anything you're doing here. This is an amazing tool. Thanks for helping me learn how to best utilize it!

Hi, I'm trying to use your tool but I can only download 4.4 version, and it's crashing every time I run it (A Table in the Database is Locked thing) so I cannot update to 4.5 in order to avoid those bugs. I've reinstalled multiple times, always running it as admin, renaming or deleting ED4.db file...Help me please.

Verbose logging is in my config file. When the tool loads the panel at the bottom says I am in Sibi which is correct, in brackets it says "No cords set". If I click the "Current" button in the BPC tab the current system changes to Sibi but the station dropdown only has Any as an option. Then nothing seems to happen, if I click search nothing comes up and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. There was a You Tube video but it was from an older version and he already had all the data loaded as the video starts so it didn't help me

Yea. My timezone is GMT +2, which I set from day one.

I believe the problem is that the coords for your current system aren't know by the tool. Try doing an "Any" search. Find a system near you that is know, fly there, and start from there. I think the main thing is for the tool to know where you are before starting. Also, check the ignore unit profit. It should be somewhere around 800-2000.

I have been heavily trading between these two systems for the past 5 hours and its not updated with the new stock levels or prices since I started. could there be something on my end blocking me uploading the current data? eg firewall?

Right after installing BPC and updating to last version i open it and just get a "Devart.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException"
I reinstalled 5 times now with no luck at all.
Do you have any idea about the problem's source?

That's because there'll be no stations logged for Sibi - YOU need to enter some. All data is crowdsourced - you'll need to type some in for where you are if there isn't any.

To do that, use Add/Update prices from the top menu - type in the station name (if it's not in the list already), and start entering prices below.

Are you typing them in? It doesn't happen automatically you know.... If you are entering them, do you get an error when you upload them? You sound like you're expecting it to happen automatically.
