Latest Annoucement and Posting Policy Changes

One idea - rather than banning humour, have a section clearly labelled as such for oddball rumours and people's crazy ideas - then everyone can have fun and no one is misled. Then everyone is happy?

We did have a off topic thread here that proved very popular but someone had the smart idea of moving it to somewhere not so Straight forward.

Now here's a rumour. I think Oddball is infact a dog. His, so called, impressions are a little too good..

..and what Möbius say.

Seems like an odd thread too !

Who's banning humour and why did you post this ?

Well, there are offtopic subforums, which I think is perfectly fine for that.

I love jokes of our community, but I will agree that there will be influx of new players and some threads can be misread as something official or serious. Therefore warning is kinda justified.

This thread makes me sad :( It sorta reminds me of the type of teacher I didn't like in school who said things like 'I love a joke as much as the next guy but...'

Not that I have an issue with TJ, more the original post that led to this. The humour and mickey-taking on here and the tolerance of it by FD have made this the best online community I've been part of in years, be a shame to see that character disappear in the name of sanity and usefulness. Instead of scaring off most people I think the nature of this forum has attracted peoples attention (it kept me here!)

My two cents.

yeah warnings are a must for every part of life.

like the proposed warning on pistol boxes ''do not point at head whilst pulling trigger'' which if were lucky will raise the adverage iq with the question ''i wonder why not''
warning excessive example included , not suitible for anyone aged 0-200 with limited sence of humour

I think that Frontier aren't banning humour, just stuff that may be crazy and fun, but is also factually inaccurate... You should still find things on here to make you smile...

Erm I read that post totally differently ..

Its about Missinformation or deliberate missinformation, like Alpha Screenshot threads or Rick rolling.. etc..

Humour will always be permitted but this advisory is due to the level of complaints I would imagine some of the misled community members have sent due to it.

So I for one will continue my humour as best I can and avoid deliberate thread creation to mislead the community ( I think the rumour thread may be behind this too)...

So I see it as a positive note that we should all play our part in keeping the forums fun, but not a nightmare of missinformation.. sounds ok to me!

*BLOOMIN ECK DID I JUST WRITE THAT???*

With regards to humour being allowed / not being allowed, I have to comment.
I used to enjoy posting on this forum. Yes it took some getting used to from having 5 or 6 of us posting to 500+ posting, but you are all great chaps & chapesses (or in psykokow's case, "unclassified"). I found I liked and respected all of you. I got comfortable posting on here and my humour started to come out.

Then I started to get labelled as "obnoxious" and "rude", which to be fair, I deserved a little, but mostly didn't deserve if you took the trouble to understand me a little. As such, I was notified of complaints against me (but not who, or what) and as such I now find I can't have fun on this forum. I don't enjoy posting here, and my desire to be a part of this community has been ruined.

Anyway just my opinion and how I feel. Hugs to you all.

I have had complaints levied against me too ... Doesn't mean i'm a bad person - Those that know me realise that I am a tactless individual who means well and those that don't think I am rude <shrug>

You're a dramatic individual who also means well .. Don't let things get to you, and if someone really es you off then add them to ignore for a while .. It really helps :)
