VR Wings Deep Space Survey

Currently 5,700ly from the core worlds and heading out... besides, I'm a bit of a "billy no mates" and somewhat of a Rift loner.

But I wish all you luck and safe travels. :)

I definitely want to see Betelgeuse, and definitely with a wing. It gets lonely out there in space and some of those big stars are kind of unnerving. Especially ones you can't fuel scoop. Class Y stars freak me out, man.

Count me in drkaii. Been mainly trading and combat up until now. Have the funds for an ASP. Weekend of April 25th/26th or May 2nd/3rd would be ideal for me!

Speaking of Deep Space Surveys, want to see what we are going to do? I've started a youtube series of documentaries documenting my deep space surveys. They are full of science and wonder. I'm very proud of it, here's the first video. If you like please share. Share the love, for Frontier's sake, for my sake, for humanities sake!

Give it 2 minutes, and I guarantee you will be hooked. Even my wife can't stop watching it :p

I'm saving up for an Asp. Still have a handfull of millions left, but I'm game for mutual expeditions in the future.
Nice video btw. Sent the link to a friend of mine to make him open his wallet and buy the darn thing :)

Thanks man! Hope it works! Can't wait till you have your Asp. We have quite an expedition party already, your name is very welcme

Spacemen,

For all those who have signed up, I've updated the original post with what you need to do next. Please read it and reply asap.

Thanks all, looking forward!

1. I've got my Asp outfitted with class C thrusters and a class B FSD at the moment with a 120t cargo capacity so I should be able to get up and running before May 1 with no trouble. I have a friend who might be able to make it also.
2. I can set some time aside for this, I'll work my schedule around yours.
3. I don't have a particular destination in mind. I've never been exploring before, lol. It might be cool to check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Square_Nebula but it's a little far away.
4. I probably won't be interrupted.

Hi cmdr Paine here have a A grade combat ASP no problem to convert it to expo spec.
I work full time (run my own pc shop closed on a sun/mon) so can only "play" 6pm till 1am need lots of beauty sleep ;-)
Only been out to the black a couple of times itching to go again.

Hello explorers!

1. I'm afraid I need to pull out of this one IF it is in april/early May. I'm helping my spouce launching here online business during early may, so I can't make any promises around those dates.
I might be ready late may, due to the fact that I got 10 mCR left to earn bountyhunting (roughly 500k/h a good day for me) and I'm not playing every evening.
2. If I give heads-up a few weeks in advance, any time is doable for me (I'm in GMT+1)
3. Any active pulsar will do, since you already went to Canis Majoris, which was my initial idea ;)
4. If planned correctly I just need to rest my brused nose and eat (growing a lump from the HMD)
I've never played more than two hours straight though. Do we have any record holders in here?

Cheers!

I have an ASP properly loaded out( you forgot didnt you) and as far a timing goes, i'm super flexible. I once knee'd myself in the back.

Forget? We found 9 Ceti where you got all your D Rating stuffs. Was a good find.

@morph we will wait for you, there's no pressure on this at all. I want us all in :)

1. I can get hold of an ASP and get it outfitted the day before we explore. I have the credits, all I will need to do is call in to a station that stocks the ship and parts and I will be all set.
2. Best dates are from Friday 24th April for me. Weekends I can currently do are...
Sunday 26 April (all day GMT)
Saturday 2nd May (all day GMT)
Sunday 3rd May (evening GMT onwards)
3. Not fussed with where we go, as long as we see some cool stuff!
4. Will need the odd bathroom break but no major interruptions

I found 9 Ceti has EVERYTHING, it's like the best station I've been to for outfitting the Asp. It's also only 1 or 2 jumps from Sol if that's where you're based?

thanks for the reply!

This is really shaping up whoopy

9 Ceti really does have everything. My asp is now ready to rock. I'm good to go any time, I'll work my schedule around yours.

I don't know if a date/time has officially been set for this yet, but I will definitely try to join. I'm in a partially upgraded Cobra right now but am aiming for an Asp!

Great. No date set yet, take your time and get your Asp. Check out my videos on tips on that

Yeah, I thought it was going to be more expensive than it was. Only the FSD and advanced scanners cost much after the initial purchase of the Asp. Those class D modules are really a bargain.

Plus surprisingly the cheap thrusters work really well with the low mass, even with a smaller distributor. I'm pretty sure my Asp is turning at about the same rate as it did with big heavy thrusters and a big heavy engine to power it, and it's not that gimped in the boost department either. It's got me wondering if maybe I shouldn't be rushing to get the biggest A-class modules I can in the larger ships.

Building the Asp for exploration has definitely shown me the game is quite a bit deeper than I thought it was at first.

I'm geared up and ready to go!
Perhaps it's time to suggest a few dates for the expedtition? My calendar is quite clean early june.

Hi guys, been months of silence! Sorry this never happened. It was just never convenient to organise. Thankfully something much bigger is being organised and I highly recommend you join. Take a look at thread you get when you click the pic in my sig :)
