No one is supposed to know exactly. I think its from the tears of third world countries.

I am inclined to say; not worth it, for the price Elite has less to offer than other games at the same price point.
...but then that's just me.
If you are after the VR experience, then I hear it is a must buy and well worth the price.
...but that's my friend
I was going to buy it in July, but last month Game Informer did a piece on the Mad Max game coming this September and it blew ED out of the water. I like them both alot but Mad Max just made me forget about ED for a couple weeks, mainly because the way I can build and upgrade my car and those upgrades make my car perform different, so I'll have to ballance my upgradeing so I can actually controll my car(hope that doesn't change before rlease). I really hope FD can put a system like that in ED so I can make my ship better perform for my playstyle.

i paid 40 or 50 € for this i dont know exactly anymore...and i play this game since 30.12.14. I am sure i sank about 500 hours or more in this Game and i am far from being finished. Feels like a pretty good deal to me.

The price is ok due to there being no subscription and due to the very good quality and the elite franchise.

but all those comparing the 200 pound kickstarter to 50 euros steam are talking a bit out of it as the alpha has free exapansions and several in game benefits so you should not compare them.

ED will definitely get a price cut in the future (as every other game in existence, ever), we don't really know when though. OP, wait for a Steam sale this summer, or the first paid expansion.
I would think they'll cut the price when DLC is out so that the price with DLC is the same $60 or $60+small something. Otherwise, it would be close to $100 to get the game.

i think 50€ for game is too mutch and set 25% or 50% from price down sometime thank you.

agree, the game pricepoint is hilarious, tbh

If EA would sell a title so low on content for full price, there would be riots on the street.

Game should sell for 14,99.- or maybe 19,99.-
future DLC 8,99 max

You got your company names crossed. It is the EA junk that is a joke at full price. You don't like Elite, no problem. Move on.

Then not EA, fine.

Compare the budget and gigantic amount of content and depth of GTA 5 , selling at the same price, and tell me which one is overpriced. But I won´t argue with die hard defenders of this game, no point anyway arguing with "fans" supporting everything no matter what

What? No, wait, What?
That is one area of the game I have no complaints. The ships are very individual, upgradeable and some are better for certain roles than others. Could use more ships, sure, but customization, yeah, even for a new release though I am sure more parts will be added too, isn't really an issue for me. Lots of different fits.
Its what to do with my ship, I hit a wall there. Station wall. Once.

The argument is just as valid if I turn it around: "No point arguinng with the haters down-talking everything no matter what".

GTA 5 is probably a great game, but I could not care less for it. If GTA 5 is what floats your boat, fine. Enjoy. If you don't see the content, value and fun in a space sim, that is fine a well. But why the need to express your negativity on this forum, which is mainly populated by people who generally like the game?

Frankly, I find these hard done by posts from members who chose to pay larger sums when the game was seeking funding pitiful. You knew what you were getting when you paid your money; you decided at that time that it was worth it. We all got bonuses for the extra sums that we paid, bonuses that are there for the lifetime of the game. The lot of you need to get over yourselves, be grateful you have the disposable income to spend larger sums on gaming, there are many out there who do not.

I could care less if the game is available for less than I paid; more players joining the game can only ever be of benefit to FDEV and the community as a whole, sadly the same cannot be said for a section of the existing community.

wrong, I don't see the content value and fun *in this particular* space sim, because frankly, there is. nothing to do in this game after 10 hours except rinse/repeat. 1.3 better delivers or I'm done waiting and uninstall.
GTA5 has a plethora of things to do, I won't even start to make a feature comparison here, enough people know the game for sure. What you get for 60$ here is not what you usually get for 60$ .

lol EA are one of the worst..

Example:-

Tiger Woods golf game, £45 and there was 26 "Twenty Six" different DLC packs to buy on day one.

I entirely disagree - I spent hundreds of $ on Elite, and it's been worth every single penny.

What is 3 or 4 hundred $? A night out? A half-decent rear tyre? A graphics card? A months health insurance or car payment? It's nothing. Elite has given me more entertainment value over time than a great many things, and if you are complaining about Elite not being worth $60, which is a trivial amount, then I worry about you. $60 doesn't even take two people to a movie.

No, cost comparison for online populations, seeing what you get for your money, assuming your into MMO Multiplayer Epic games......
