The other night I am siting at the Nav Beacon playing around with different weapons combos etc... for the clipper,
I get the warning ship scan detected (Weapons at this point are 2 C3/ G Cannons and 2 D2/ G Beams) the Scan was from a new CMDR in a sidewinder So I say Hi to him asking how it going? His response was Drop all you cargo or I will shoot you. I asked if he had a cargo scanner and got ??? for an answer, So I am thinking well this will be fun (As I have no cargo on board but can carry 160 in the current config) So I ask him how much cargo can you carry? his response was I want all of it, So I explained to him that I did not have any cargo, and was only here to test weapons, and at this point deployed the weapons and targeted him, and asked him if he wanted to do this... and told him to take a good look at the clipper and then decide what he wanted to do. He replied that if I did not drop the cargo he was going to kill me, So I told him to give it a shot, he pulls up about 400 meters out straight in front of me and Stopped! he started shooting and turned wanted.

Point blank hits with both beams and both cannons, hell I did not even get the message that his shields went down just exploded!

About 15 min later I run in to him again, He tells me he is reporting me because I killed him.

Why do you think this is a new person? Could just be someone bored playing around. Sounds funny to try.

You should have targeted his FDS and left him there.

I think I may have met this character (or one very like them) a few weeks ago. Bonkers but funny !

I salute to the new CMDR's stupidi--I mean bravery and your patience for not blowing him out of the sky immediately when he asked for your cargo.

Reminds me of the old FFE hawk air fighter brigade with their 'Surrender or die' taunts. In a clipper with 300 shield units they ram the ship and nothing happens.

This is the first time I have come across the level of idiocy in E: D lol. I would have disabled him and left him for the security forces lol

I'd have put 4 pips to shields and told him he's got 20 seconds of free shots before I deploy my weapons and shoot. Then left him with 1% hull, and a warning.... Learn the game before you try to pirate.

Heh, yeah Steam sure has brought some interesting new players. Most new guys I recently met were nice enough. But every once in a while you meet a person who just does not get it.

I was bounty hunting at a RES yesterday. Lots of new players there. We talk in local chat, have fun for 15 minutes or so. Then at some point I try to kill one of those juicy Anaconda pirates and another player flies into my line of fire. I accidentally hit him and get a bounty. I apologize, retract my weapons and want to jump back to station to pay off the bounty. As I try to get away from the asteroid field I notice a single hollow triangle who follows me and keeps attacking my FDL. I target him, its one of the new players I just chatted with..Viper, mostly harmless. I ask him to stop attacking me, tell him I am not an enemy. He just keeps firing. I turn around and tell him to stop it or I'll shoot back. He just keeps coming at me firing with all he has got. Just as I get ready to fire a few warning shots at him, he head on rams me at full speed. My Ferdie loses about 1 shield ring. The Viper is down to 20% hull and running away quickly. The last thing I see as I charge my FSD is a local chat message from the other guy "Help, he is trying to kill me". Kids these days...

He he sounds about 10. He is probably reporting you to his Mum.

about as funny as the sidewinder that interdicted my python while I was looking for strong signal sources to take on 3 condas, he didn't even ask for cargo, he just started firing, I didn't try and run, I just turned to face him, fired my plasma and a few shots of the cannon and he was gone, ill give him +1 for trying.

Yeah kids don't seem to get the fact its s long haul game, they honestly seem to think its a start game and attack everyone sort of game lol. I've been attacked in games over the years they always end up in pieces, most amusing one was Delta Force where this kid wanted to test grenades by shooting them into the air, they didn't think of gravity and what goes up must come down.

Back OT they do provide some amusement though for us seasoned players :) by the way its described it does look like a bot though or someone with that level of intellect the responses do seem to be the npc standard.
