Destroyed by a summer fruits strudel.

There I was, mining in my Asp about 500 light years from civilisation when I hear a warning alarm from the kitchen telling me my summer fruits strudel is ready. I press escape to save and exit and then notice too late that the "in danger" countdown timer is up I'm heading straight toward an asteroid on on full throttle. Compounding the absurdity of my demise, for some reason I have 4 pips to engine and hardly anything to shields. It's too late to get back in game and do anything about it. I lose about 2.5 million in rebuy costs, unclaimed bounties, exploration data and mined metals.

I wouldn't really mind, but the strudel could only be described as adequate.

Sounds like user error to be honest.

I baked an apple and blackberry pie with shortcake pastry on saturday, and I still live :)

(I freely admit that if I tried to eat it all in one go I might be in a bit of trouble though......)

You can tell from the fact that I was mining 500 light years out that perhaps I'd lost my focus a little. Hopefully being ganked by a flaky pastry based dessert will encourage me up my game a little.

I did a home-made plum and apple cobbler on Friday night whilst playing ED and had no problems near asteroids. Maybe your shop-bought dessert is the issue? A nice cobbler with a cinnamon stick inside (remember to remove it before serving) and freshly rolled scone topping will certainly help in any asteroid based incidents. Add a scoop of really good vanilla ice cream (Mackays would be my choice).

fruit will do it every time, vegetables however are a sensible pilots choice. The other day while waiting for some rares to respawn gave me plenty of time to prepare 1kg of onions peeled and chopped, then buy Rares, zoom off to the next stn and buy what they have then add a of butter, a glug of olive oil, 6 crushed cloves of garlic and the chopped onions to a pan, put on low heat and cover for 50 mins.
Buy more re-spawned rares and visit the next system on my list, Stir the onions occaisionally.
After the 50 mins add 2 litres of stock and simmer gently for 30 mins while doing the Elite thing.

At the end of an hour and a half voila, 1million credits and a delicious Onion soup
