I was sitting in a twitch channel the other day watching somoene head to the core and discussion turned to the subject of...well..poop..
We started pondering exactly what happens to our 'leavings' , the general concensus was that the 'HONK' you hear when scanning a system was actually a 'flush' when the waste products are ejected...
This spawned the theory of how the thargoids will eventually find us in the channel.
Now if you think about it more and more people are heading out into the great black in various directions and (mostly) coming back to 'known' space...but as they approach that area , their 'trails' get closer and closer together distance wise as they home into a station to sell the data.
Relatively speaking 'known' space is really really tiny compared with the rest of the galaxy , so , the trail of waste gets a more and more concentrated the closer you get to home.
All the thargoids have to do is follow the various trails and look for the highest concentration and it will basically be a huge 'HERE WE ARE' arrow for them.
We're doomed by poop!
