Grinding slowly for the Anaconda

Here's the setup I've used for trading. It's 165M. I'm willing to bet there are even better, cheaper setups out there, though, but that'll give you a rough idea.
I hate to say it but I started my first one with 200m and that was not great! I sold it and worked until I had 250m then bought it again and kited it out for trading with more upgrades as I made more $. I am safety minded so I kept enough for insurance and always run with shields and docking computer. I have 432t capacity at this time and am having fun. Best of luck with yours.

You can trade with this, but you'd be much better off sticking with a Lakon type 9 for a good while then getting the Anaconda when you can build something impressive.

174 mill, nearly 20ly jump, 820MJ shields, 452 cargo.
Leave 13 mill on top for insurance & cargo.

Regarding shields, they are based on hull alone and with boosters, you can just submit, soak, jump with impunity.

Your shield is calculated only by your hull mass, not the total mass of your ship. You may be thinking of thrusters which do take into account your ship's total mass. In any event, the shields are really just there to keep you from doing damage if you bump into something.

Even the 4A shield is hella tough once you slap 3 to 6 A-grade shield boosters on.

You may be right but if you mouse over the Opt: and the Max: you will see "Optimum mass" and "Max mass" for that shield which changes with each number size upgrade so Shield size (size always counts, lol) must come into play here.
