BYE BYE Anaconda

Just got my Anaconda today...been grinding with a couple my friends for a long time to achieve this goal. Im happy to say that i got it today.....I am sad to say that in less then an hour I logged off my computer and relogged
due to stuttering and lag issues. I parked my conda at a res site and then logged off then on and I spawned inside an astroid. it blew my beloved
anaconda up and i have lost all motivation. I was in solo mode and was gathering money and just having a good time with this awesome ship and now shes gone.
Please when relogging at a res site becareful not to place your ship in the ring but above it far enough not to respawn into a rock that takes your hard work from you.I have
created a ticket regaurding this issue and am really hoping they replace my ship because this is out of my control as to where i may spawn.
It never crossed my mind that i would spawn inside an astroid,,,i just play the game not design it,,,the saddest part and the part i hate even admitting to is i didnt have enough insurance to cover the ship.
I am a confident Cmdr in my ability to operate this ship because ive operated the t9 for a while and never any problems. Further more i was in solo to avoid players until i had insurance. I know you should never
fly a ship withouth insurance and if i had been killed by a player or npc i would not even post this but to no fault of my own, just some freaking spawn issue I loose my ship that i worked very hard to achieve.
Really im just venting and hoping that one of you guys in the community can reassure me that ed will get my ship back to me. if not i just dont feel like starting all over again because this was out of my control.
Honestly I was and am very angry about all of this, mostly at myself for not keeping insurance but also at the spawn issue. Just dont get it. Well from America good night folks maybe good news tomorrow.

Numerous people have had their ships refunded after such incidents. Have you submitted a support ticket?

So, you had an Anaconda with no insurance. No matter how you try to dress it up, it's still an Anaconda with no insurance.

Would you buy a new car and drive it with no insurance? Lots of people try that, and most of them cry. "Oh your 1972 beater dented my lovely new 2015 Nissan! - ya is gonna pay! Whatz insurance?"

We've had a similar issue with Clipper, a week ago.

In fact, it was exactly the same. Logged out in a RES, logged back, instantly explodes. And no money for insurance.

He was flying without money for insurance.

If you could believe that.

Well, I wish I could type "sorry for your loss", but come on now... this is a 140M ship. Why would you do that?

Salute Commanders,

Thank you Commander Obvious. What an asp thing to say. Out of about a zillion responses, WITHOUT going into the various tangents of what his post brings to light, you have to restate the obvious and try to make him/her feel less about it. Isn't it obvious to you that he/she got the lesson? Here, let me set an example for you.

@hvygunner13: Hey sir! Good luck in your endeavor to get reimbursement on your loss. I guess the one thing that ED teaches everyone is to expect the unexpected, and prepare for it. Just remember, the joy of the journey is more fun than reaching the destination in this game. Hang in there!

Your missing the point by a very long shot, several thousand light years actually.

This is something many people struggle with when getting so engrossed in their own opinions on matters.. I will "undress" the OPS post and break it down into very basic talk, I'll even do this in bullet points for simplification.

  • He had an Anaconda
  • He was logged in via SOLO Play
  • He left the game whilst inside a Resource Extraction Site - that's also called a RES
  • When he returned to his game his ship was blown up, since it spawned into the space of a giant rock also known as an asteroid

Regardless of insurance the point of the OPS post is that he left the game with a fully operational ship (operational is the key word), when he returned his Anaconda was no longer operational.

Perhaps give him a break and think about kittens or unicorns.

While I agree with your ways, this is still half the story. With insurance, this would have been a mere annoyance, probably no more than a 10M loss, and certainly not something presented under a "BYE BYE Anaconda" title.

Still, the derailing is usually very strong is this place, so have some rep.

I parked my new car outside the off licence, just wanted a bottle of wine! 5 minutes later, I return to find my car in bits, I didn't have the car insured, Moss side Manchester for you!

I love ED and RL parallels.

If you can afford an anaconda you can afford a much smaller ship for emergencies for farming when you don't have insurance for an anaconda.

Give the guy a break?

Anything could have happened, he could have scraped a dock wall, he could have ramed a roid while fighting an npc ship could have rammed him etc etc.

Never ever fly without insurance.
Ever.
If you do please do us a favor and don't come to complain about it on the forum the only people that are going to give you sympathy are people who think all ships should be free when you have grinded them out, counter to you know how the game actually works.

Chances are his ship will be refunded, albeit with a significant ticket wait time.

He was a bit silly - parking your pride and joy in an asteroid field is kinda like parking your Mercedes or Bentley in the middle of a busy set of traffic lights and expecting it to be in the same condition when you return.

Hvygunner13 - don't fly without insurance ever again, even in Solo. :D
And don't park in asteroids, or suns.

That sucks mate I just got my anaconda as well and I do really feel sorry for you. But don't stress you've climbed to the top once u can do it again.

I have read numerous threads about people logging off inside RES and then relogging and explode. From that i learned to never do that, i mean you can log off anywhere you like, even inside stations undocked APART from RES.And thats the problem i have with this thread, if OP reads the forums he must have seen it a lot of times and should never do that especially with a ship he has no inssurance of.

Your chances are that you will be refunded you whole ship/ a big chunk of your ship value

Another one...

How do you get to an Anaconda and don't know enough to go back and park safely in the hangar before logging off?

Worse yet, how do you take off or even buy the thing without having insurance?

Grinding?

or

Exploiting and buying credits from a bounty farmer?

I'll believe anything...

You decide

Awe darn - you mean FD actually took steps to kill bounty farming and I can't just buy another one???

You can't make this stuff up.

Truth is so much more fun than fiction.

No sympathy here - I was screwing around with flight assist off last night and hit the station at speed while loaded with 452T of Palladium.

No ticket submitted, because it was MY fault. Paid the insurance and earned it back along with 20 Mil more today.

Suck it up

This is what you should be expecting when relogging inside a RES. And I can see why you were doing that - everybody knows and it wasn't lag ;)

And when I say expecting it, I mean have insurance. I still kinda feel for you commander, you must've been gutted, so have rep to carry you through to a quick response to your ticket. Good luck!

Yeah that sucks, the problem probably is that your location remains fixed, while the asteroids and planet spin and move, so yeah you need to get way way out of a res before you disconnect in it, preferably do a quick supercruise away from res just a ls or two, and drop out into blank space, there logging off won't cause asteroid impacts (though may cause planetary if planet moves into that position? dunno haven't tested)

Good luck, i lost a t-7 back in january and have still not got any response.

I lost several early on due to the same bugs everyone else was losing ships to. Never got a refund, much less a reply.

At this point, the million or so credits is negligible. At the time, it was a pretty significant dent in my virtual finances. Fortunately I had insurance, so I didn't have to go back to the Freewinder. :D

When you refer to "us" you are speaking on behalf of who? I realize you are trying to grand stand and use more emphasis to make a point, but you don't have to come here and read posts if they trouble you; your acting as if your being put out!

You need to overlook posts that cause you to be emotionally reactive, one thing that worked for me when I was a child was to get a good early night with a glass of milk (not a full cup because you don't want to wet the bed) and a biscuit. This made me much more accepting of others and helped me when the big stuff was important!

Just a free pro tip for contemplation.
