decide whether or not to drop my 15 mil on an asp and go explore or if I should save because of the new ships (though federal or general use ships only, I rp for the Federation in game). I got the exploration bug and want to get out there for a long long stretch, but depending whats about to become available I am willing to wait a month or so to check it out first. This has been my plan for awhile but I'm getting edgy with the notes release so close

. Anyone else have big plans they have on hold while waiting? (we need some way to pass the time!)

I don't think 1.3 is that far off.

I'm just accumulating cr's until then rather than buying new ships.

If you really just can't wait to explore, you can configure a Hauler pretty nicely for the task and only lose a small amount if you sell it back later.

I thought about it, but I have a desire to go far, like really far, and I'd rather not have to come back only after a month because I find out theres a change I just "have" to try.

Just pointing out that you can do it on the cheap in a smartly configured Hauler rather than spending 10X more on an Asp.

I see some mighty big assumptions lately.

Who says the reveal is today? Why not some other day or in the newsletter.

And why is everyone so sure that powerplay, the biggest update yet will be available a month after the announcement.. Why couldn't they make an announcement saying it's available in six months time or something if it really is that major...i hope not, but it makes sense

Take it back! No, I think most people are basing it off of the way the previous large updates were done.

A combination of Optimism, and 1.3 is a free patch with content update, so something that will be 6/ 9 /12 months in the works might be a paid expansion instead

A week ago Michael said the reveal would in a week. So far everything that's been in the newsletters has been revealed the day before in the dev updates so there's no reason to think it will change today, but if not it'll be.in tomorrow's newsletter.

Why would they spend 3-4 weeks hyping it up and giving us a release date for the info only to tell us we had to wait months more for the beta? It would be inconsistent with every previous release, and it wouldn't make sense to hype something up this much if the release were not imminent.

Noone's expecting the beta to open tomorrow, but chances are it will be shortly after the release of the mac version so they're not running two betas at the same time. They haven't even opened the cross platform mac beta yet so it's likely to be at least a week away, quite possibly longer.

This is only a reveal - there will then be Beta testing then a release

Buy your ASP anmd go explore - 1.3 is at least 2-3 WEEKS away from release
