No Corvette...are you kidding me?

Empire ranking better not be req'd for the new ship, considering the sorry excuse of the fed's dropship.

Already confirmed to require a rank. It will require Master, which is easily doable in a day

It makes perfect sense why the Corvette won´t be in the game before it has a counter part. If you noticed, when FD has realeased ships, they´ve always done them in pairs, which makes sense from a balance perspective. Think about it:

The Corvette will be a LARGE dedicated combat vessel. It will be a lot bigger than the FDL, which means, that powerplay factions that align with the federations will have that advantage. The corvette will probably be a better combat ship than an Anaconda.

Fed scum wasn't RP ? Where the hell did you see that faction ships should be totally equivalent ? Do you think the Clipper is a Dropship's equivalent ? Why Feds and Imperials don't get the exact same ship with a different color then ?? What's supposed to be the Courier equivalent ?

(Did you see I'm neither a Feds, neither an Imperial ?)

The Dropship and the Clipper are close, as the Clipper has some very serious drawbacks in its hardpoint positioning. The Courier and the Corvette are a Grand Canyon away from each other.

"Fed scum", you think I actually consider that a serious part of my argument?

People always have to complain about something....

The devs must get frustrated by posts like this. I mean, come one. Power Play is adding/tweaking a lot of things and someone runs to the forums as soon as they see a ship they wanted hasn't been added.

You should never assume anything just because it accidentally got put into a newsletter by mistake....

Same here, very disappointed.

Wow.....

More or less. Depends. A Corvette is usually smaller and faster than a frigate, but less armed and less solid. The Conda will still have it's 8 hardpoints (1 Huge, 3 Larges, 2 Med, 2 smalls). The 'Vette will probably have something like 1 Huge, 2 Larges and 2 smalls.

What I'm saying is that we don't need equivalent both sides.

Sorry on that, I didn't figured out that you were joking.

Wow wow...
As I said, I'm waiting it since NL#61. So yes, I'm disappointed. You came here to make us a lesson ? ... Troll.

And so the cycle of entitled whining moves on to the next subject....

Lol, the whining has begun.

How dare FD give us such a huge and awesome update, damn them! /facepalm

I confess my heart dropped a bit when the Vette wasn't confirmed for 1.3. I imagined it as the Federal counterpart to the Clipper - fast, probably a bit smaller than the Anaconda - so I was hoping it'd be in. If it's not ready, then it's not ready. We're still getting two brand new ships.

We certainly dont need any more large ships, what we need are more small ships to fill in the gaps. Glad to hear about the new ones.

I disagree, right now there is only really 2 large ships for combat, the Anaconda and the Clipper. The clippers 22 million price tag (fully upgraded costs 100 Mil) is easily obtainable for the layperson in this game. The Anaconda has a steep price tag, and its the most expensive ship to upgrade, a fully kitted one can cost you 800 million. This ship however is a lot to lose in combat (yes its possible) the corvette I would have expected to be probably more expensive than the conda but cost less to upgrade, have proportionate power but more manouverability perhaps less shields and utility.

As it stands right now...most of the people I play with and against have anacondas. I play every day I have purchased skins, was a backer etc. The 2 new ships are probably not going to be of much use to me, they both look asp like in size so the FDL python and anaconda are still going to be superior combat crafts, the diamondback might be a miner or something, that might be interesting, but being able to solo hi intensity RES sites in an anaconda with a heap of drones and many turreted weapons will most likely trump it.

I think its dissapointing for a person of my time played in the game. I think that the other stuff in the update looks very interesting dont get me wrong, but after the corvette was anounced 11 weeks ago now, I really thought it was going to be in 1.2, I really expected it to be in 1.3, now it looks like it will be an expansion craft.

Nope.

It was an accidental leak. Maybe I was a little to headstrong with my first post.

What I should and actually mean to say, is that you should never assume anything because you will end up being disapointed if it's not true.

But obviously you have a right to voice your dissapointment, and that's fair. Doesn't mean I have to agree, I don't, but I understand.

Perhaps it was a more imminent priority to fix/overhaul the atrociously buggy and vague mission and progression system than it was to introduce three new ships instead of two. And FD has *gasp* limited resources. Unbelievable, isn't it?
On the other hand, we could have got a buggy Corvette now, or the Powerplay with Corvette upgrade could have been postponed for several more weeks, I'm sure in such alternative scenarios there would totally not be torrents of whiner tears like now.

We're playing one of the most polished and well-supported games I've ever come across, and this support and upgrades come for free, the lack of one new ship is nothing.

And one more teacher.

Disagree with this, the way they changed credit earnings they may as well not make any small ships to fill the gaps, as the gaps people require to be filled are getting higher and higher, unless were talking very expensive small ships which I actually like the idea of greatly.

However considering how well the vulture performs, expensive small ships probably isn't gonna fly as it really was good enough to justify its original price but it got lowered anyway.

The Corvette will appear when the Cutter is ready.

The Courier, being a low ranking Imperial ship is closer to the Vulture, and is to even out the Core Dynamics / Gutamaya ship count.

I just want to point out to people that the Anaconda -isn't- a frigate. It's said to be used in that role by small navies. So, probably, independent systems. Doesn't mean it's a frigate.

It would also mean the Feds (scum) get an 'endgame' ship; the Courier is a smaller vessel, I'd imagine something of a multi-purpose exploration ship.

... and FD-- please not another clone Lakon interior for the Diamondback.
oh so much this that Lakon interior has less character than a dirty dog bed.
