Newcomer / Intro security vessel flies right into my fire.. now I am wanted.

I have to leave the RES and fly all the way back to station to pay the 200cr fine?

inst there such thing as accidental friendly fire?

I am allied with these people.

this needs fixing.

also to note that I run into their fire as well. but I am forgiving.

Wipe the credit signs from your eyes and you might see them on your radar and stop firing

FF amnesty doesn't count if you hit them with big weapons or their Shields are already down

Its really not a big deal. Simply fly to an Outpost - where you won't be scanned by security ships - dock, and pay off the fine.

The police tend not to like being shot at even if its their fault.

It could be worse, I have been in combat zones and accidentally fired on ships that were on my side. That turns very ugly, very quickly. But the solution is the same: find an outpost, pay off the fine.

It's a pretty normal occuence, unfortunately. It can be avoided, however, with some good situational awareness. Just stop shooting when a ship you're not actively trying to kill gets too close to your reticle. I know it's harder than it sounds, and I've pulled a few bounties myself that way, but it's good practice against tunnel vision, at least.

Yeah I am not sure this is the proper way to respond to posts. kind of rude.

=)

Twas eer thus, I'm afraid Beatz, Doomlord's been here for yonks and has nothing but terse replies for those who see things slightly differently. All I can say is when I was starting, I wholeheartedly agreed with you. Now I've been playing for a few weeks I'm a little more cautious fighting, and stick to RES that are close to outposts just in case I have to fly back with a cracked canopy, wanted bounty, etc. Those feds, man, they crazy.

That actually works quite well. I have the largest beams the cobra can fit, and even then when I let go of the trigger a little too late, I did not incur a bounty.
It is true, police shoots at you without impunity, but they never even take out a shield ring, so I think same rule applies to them _ although I am not sure if they can be wanted themselves. That would be comical.

Only kinda rude, not proper rude. Demanding a 'fix' doesn't really get the heart strings strumming.
Yes I can terse, I'm on a phone, but I always give accurate information and assistance

They actually can. A friend and I were teaming up to take larger bounties when we noticed a bunch of security ships were shooting at a friendly npc. Turned out to be a security ship with wanted status. It was kind of amazing, they took him out in less than a minute, despite fighting an Asp for a good ten minutes before that.

when this happened to me the cops never shoot me back!
They always waited for my target to be destroyed.
After the missshoting happenes they all turn their face to my ship. so actually you have a lot of time to flee after a accidental 'wanted' situation.
