Request: Limit the number of authority vessels in Resource Extraction Sites

Just a small suggestion to improve the quality of life for us bounty hunters out there...

Right now, when a bounty hunter starts hunting in a Resource Extraction Site, as he kills more targets more and more authority vessels show up until eventually there are far more authority vessels in the RES than either miners or pirates. This makes bounty hunting kind of obnoxious, especially with all the unshielded Novice wanted ships, because the cops start killing off all the targets before you can even finish scanning them to see if they are wanted. The fact that you have to search through 20+ authority vessels to even FIND a wanted target does not help.

This doesn't happen at Nav Beacons, and I think I have figured out why. At Nav beacons, when authority vessels show up, they eventually leave after a few moments of inactivity. In RES, this never happens, because there are always pirates, and so the cops are always engaged in combat. Because of this, once authority vessels enter a RES, they never leave.

My suggestion is pretty straightforward: limit the number of authority vessels which can spawn in a single RES. My suggested limit would be 10 - still quite a few cops, and enough to provide some protection to the miners there, but not completely overwhelm the RES - but this could be tuned as needed.

Anyway, that's just my suggestion, take it or leave it.

I think this will be partially fixed in the next update. Remember they said something about how there will be high and low intensity RES in the upcoming update. They said the low intensity will have a lower payout for miners but also it will be safer. Then the high intensity ones will have higher payout but more dangers such as pirates.

Yeah, other ships jump out when they are 'done' with whatever, but authority does not it seems, wouldn't they do so once the emergency they entered to help with is over? begin patrolling or such? That said, have no problem finding wanted.

I think ideally the security presence should scale with the System's security rating.

It does seem that at the moment System Authority ships seem to stack up whilst you spend time at a RES, it would be good if some of them would jump away after a bit.

Turn off Report Crimes Against Me in the right panel and authority vessels will stop showing up. If you leave it on 1 spawns practically every time you're engaged and it turns into a nightmare of avoiding hitting them or getting fines. Having helper ships is fun but the ships that passively spawn there are more than enough, turn it off imo, ESPECIALLY if you play online. Otherwise you just spawn a million ships that people have to compete against and constantly hit and get fines which is just super annoying

It's something that needs some balance for shure, but I have a hint for you: check often your contacts panel for... hummm too many hints ;)

I wouldn't mind seeing as the 'cops' don't steal your kills as long as your the last PLAYER to hit the wanted npc. the problem is after a while there ends up being so many system authority that I end up taking more damage from colliding with space cops then i do from actual fighting. if your binging on a RES or working in a wing where theres always atleast 1 person on field for several hours straight they do start to stack up pretty bad. imho there should be an upper limit to the number of space cops that will respond to a given area.

+1 ^^ This. Amazing how many people leave this turned on and complain about security ... ;)
