Newcomer / Intro Invitation to PLX 695

So the mission is MEET A REPRESENTATIVE AT PLX 695... so I go there and expect an important communication from a sectors 'senior ranking naval officer'... I dock at DOVER... an den? AN DEN??? That is, I don't have an option to receive this 'important communication' to which I was tasked to do...

Build up your rep a bit with the local fed factions and you will get the next mission. Took me some time for it to come through but it will.

hmm - so the mission still shows up on the Bulletin Board, but it's now in the Unavailable pane, saying that I already have the mission!

I flew there in my Adder since it have the necessary modules to make it without having to refuel at a station or to star scoop. Perhaps anything to do with this being 'broken'?

If I have to gain local rep, I'll need to fly back to my old base, pick up my Viper, buy a scoop and hobble my way back...

Ignore the re-occurring old rank mission - it's a bug and happens to everyone.

Just do some trade missions or just trade in your adder as this will add rep.

thx all - suppose I'll go back and grab my Viper since she's now my pride and joy... then again, I think it may be time to retire my Adder for a more dedicated cargo crawler ;)

(Hmm... maybe I'll just buy a Siddy and smash into something for a quick ride back to my Viper - then I'll be in a position to have both ships in PLX 695 !)

Actually, I hear some people keep a Siddy in various stations across the galaxy for quick / easy transport from one place to another...
So perhaps I'll buy one @ LHS 3589 (Roosa Gateway) before journeying with my Viper back to PLX 695...

therefore:
- Buy a Siddy in PLX 695
- Smash is thoroughly.
- Choose to pilot my Viper in LHS 3589
- Buy a Siddy in LHS 3589 just to keep a place holder there.
- Pilot my Viper to PLX 695
- Sell my Adder (after selling the modules 1st!)
- Buy a Type 6 Transport

Sounds like a plan! Will it work?? Yeah?? ;)

** EDIT: duh - posted wrong Viper spec - this one's smoke'n!

Nope you will be in the last place you docked ,where you bought the sidey :)
Havent heard that I know people use em to note a fav system but quick transport across the galaxy no :)

You can just forget about the PLX 695 system for now, you wont need it for anything...
But you should now go to a nearby system of LHS 3589 and start doing mission from one of the minor factions there(remember to choose a faction loyal to Fed) and sooner or later you will get the next naval missions...
like the others say all the Permits shows up as some kind of mission but they are not missions they are only a permit to a system nothing more and personaly I thing the only permit worth getting is to the founders world as they give you a discount when buying ships and upgrades....

btw. u can't use destroying youself on purpose to get anywhere, except back to the last station where you've docked.... :(
the fastes way accross the galaxy is in a ship with a large jump range there are no shortcuts I'm afraid... :(

Having somewhat a hard time finding a Federation system close to LHS 3589 that's as nice as LHS 3589.

By filtering the Galaxy map only to FEDERATION, with large populations.... I found:
LP 340-547 should have been 'nice' but no RES, no NAV.

LP 339-7 I thought would also be nice but even though it's Federation, system view reveals no stations allegiances to Federation, instead all Independent. I suppose I could still take a drive there...

The system doesn't have to be as nice as LHS 3589 it just has to be federation with another minor faction loyal to FED in order for you to gain more total Rep with Fed so you can get yet another Naval Rank progression mission... If it's close enough to LHS 3589 you can always go there to upgrade/buy a new ship if want/need to....
