Oh WOW !!!!!! Conda in a Oculus

So I have played a bit since beta and loved it soley in the DK2.

Had most ships including the Type 9 and that was big.

But because you sit near the front in the cathedral bubble of the T9 it looses all sense of scale.

Then you step into a Conda :D:D:D:D Like a giant Ford Capri :p

No words, completely different experience and docking :) :) brilliant, so HUGE !!!!!!

Fitted it with C3 beams, Plasma and pulse turrets on the small / mediums :)

WOW and WOW again, DK2 and Conda.....

So Conda kitted out has replaced the T9, to join the Vulture and Asp explorer.

She is a great ship in the Rift :) that feeling of being the captain of a huge liner is unbeatable. But still I can't resist the T9, the sheer sense of vertigo you get in the DK2 when looking 3 storeys down at the landing pad, draws me back every time. Whenever I demo the rift I always use the T9, watching the %&!!! reactions from people never get's old :)

This is awesome!! Totally immersive game play sounds amazing! I can't wait to buy one and..... $350 *ERK!*
Think.... think I'll wait for a consumer model.

I got to try the conda with the Rift during the latest beta, and I have to say I was underwhelmed. Something about the distances not rendering correctly in 3d, I don't know why, everything further than a few meters outside the cockpit looks like it's just displayed on a flat screen 5m from you. I really don't get the sense of depth on the hull in front of me, and it gets even worse when I'm docked, as the wall beyond my ship looks like it's 5 meters away, which feels wrong and weird. Anyone else experiencing this?

IPD/Player height makes a massive difference. Here's the issue with ED, for quite a few of us correct IPD and player height doesn't translate correctly in ED. I use different settings for DCS A-10

These are my settings, Scale/distance/depth looks perfect to me, and everything is life size as it should be.

Elite Dangerous

IPD 55 -
Eye relief - Full out
Height 4' 4"
Eye Cups A
Eye to neck - Horizontal 80.5mm Vertical 75.0
DK2 is fully extended out using the screws on the side

DCS A-10 (correct measured settings)

IPD 64
Eye relief - Full out
Height 6' 1"
Eye Cups A
Eye to neck - Horizontal 80.5mm Vertical 75.0
DK2 is fully extended out using the screws on the side

Just done a few trading runs :) Ok so loosing almost 100t of cargo over the T9, but much more fun flying the Conda.

Also took it to an Anarchy Nav Beacon. Nothing and I mean nothing could touch it (NPC solo mode). I just sat there pivoting around, C3 beams and the odd plasma shot :) Turrets on pulses doing their job. Lol, love it.

My reward for over 1 month out exploring :)
