Look, look, just because there's an organisation in Elite
called "Emperor's Grace" doesn't mean that
this group of Commanders who happen to
call themselves "Emperors Grace" are
anything to do with that other lot with the really bad press.
Completely different bunch of guys!
It's, like, totally unfair. The former seem to have a bad rep for (allegedly) trying to bump off emperors. The latter are a fun-loving bunch of knockabout crazy party guys you'd just love to hang out with! They are totally
not the same organisation.
The Commander group just
called themselves a vaguely similar name
for traditional reasons.
You see, way back when, in the Imperial Court, a bunch of NPC power junkies were trying to think up a name. "Test", "Goon" and "C.O.D.E." were taken. They were stumped. They sat and pondered in silence, coming up with nothing. Then, without warning, the NPC tea lady tripped on a rug and spilled tea all over the place... and shouted "Emperor's Grace! I can't believe I did that! Crap!".
The NPCs leaped out of their chairs as one. "That's it! We'll call ourselves C.R.A.P.! No, wait, I've got an even better idea..."
And thus Emperor's Grace was born.
Now, if you look closely, you'll see that the (allegedly) emperor-snuffing-inclined organisation spells their name
with an apostrophe. The unrelated Commander group (the happy-go-lucky fellows who are really really nice) spell their name
with no apostrophe.
Emperors Grace (totally fun, would never try to kill off their boss with poison)
Emperor's Grace (bit iffy, don't eat the salmon mousse at their dinner parties)
