Emperor's Grace attacked the Emperor

In our dealings with them, Emperor's Grace leadership has shown themselves to be supporters of Torval and Patreus. They may try to disassociate themselves from these events, but let's be honest - if push came to shove, they would not be on the side of the angels.

they would not be on the side of the angels.

Most truth I've ever heard from a goons mouth. The only use I would have for Aisling would be to use that excess air between her ears to re-pressurize my cockpit in the event of a canopy breach.
If Patreus wants to use her to further his goals so be it. But she is little more than a tool to be used, and of little use at that.

And as stated before. Everything we do we do for the betterment of the empire. Even bringing a corrupt chapter of our own to justice as reported on Galnet. Never doubt EGs loyalty to the empire.

To quote a great man. "Bask Harder"

I cant say what she can be used for until I see how she looks like ;).

Senator Arissa Lavigny today announced that thanks to the loyal support of Emperor's Grace, the plot to uncover the assassination attempt was successful. Emperor's Grace was instrumental in uncovering who was behind the criminal act against the Emperor and the Duval family.

Whilst many commentators jumped to false conclusions as to the activities of Emperor's Grace, the leadership of the faction with the support of Senator Denton Patreus, discovered that a renegade faction of Emperor's Grace based out of HR 706 was behind the assassination attempt. Speculation surrounds who may have influenced them to commit treason.

If you ask me, I would dare to venture that it might be said of Aisling Duval that she is part of the, ahem, "indolent majority" - she only wants to hold on to what she perceives as already being hers. But she has the right name. I call practical arrangement. Aisling is desperate enough to go for it. Arissa has the right blood but has a better hand than Aisling and knows she can rule alone, so she won't play dice on the whole "political union" thing. That said I wouldn't be surprised if Arissa set this whole thing up for others to take the fall. Arissa's a smart one, I'm pretty sure she could come up with such a scheme. Patreus would be foolish in the extreme to attempt an assassination of the Emperor - his standing would be ruined, and why bother when the old man is clearly on his last legs anyway? Besides which, Patreus is still gearing up - Eotienses isn't a High Tech world yet, it can't start pumping out the war machinery just yet, and as Powerplay is not yet live he has yet to recruit a force (of commanders at any rate) - he doesn't stand to gain from taking the Emperor out early. Not that Arissa wants to bump off her dad; but she's sharp and it would be great for her if she could set up her rivals for the ultimate fall. It's an interesting theory, at any rate.

And just to remind everyone:

Torval owns a Build-A-Slave factory because she wants to, as Philip K. put it "relive the golden age of the American south".

And Patreus is a loan shark who funds actual space-swastika space-wearing space-fascists.

This is what the Empire is all about. Im more than happy to be this kind of "bad guy", its the slander of being disloyal to our beloved Emperor that was so painful. Luckily, its only the HR 706 Emperors Grace that are the traitors. We shall punish them accordingly:

And just to remind everyone:

Torval thinks the already abhorrent Imperial economy simply isn't terrible enough.

And Patreus is a loan shark who funds actual space-swastika space-wearing space-fascists.

And Aisling is like a 34th century version of a Kardashian. A walking talking train wreck.

Come to think of it that would make Harold Duval the Bruce Jenner of the 34th century. Wash that image from your minds eye.....

I would question whether Arissa really is a smart one, more like Chancellor Blaine's puppet. He has effectively been running the empire for who knows how long and is the real power behind the throne. So far Blaine's only mistake was to wait too long to arrange the wedding between the emperor and Florence. Do we have any proof that Arissa is the emperor's chosen successor or did we just believe what the chancellor told us? I would certainly suspect that the alleged assassination attempt came from the group that would seem to gain least by the emperor's early death. Are we really going to believe that an expert imperial assassin could really fail when given such a good opportunity as they are supposed to have had?
Barring a miracle recovery by the emperor it looks very much like there will be a civil war, which could be very profitable for those without fixed allegiances...

Who? The Jera rebels?

Never been to Jera, but the place I parked my car last time I logged out was run by a group backed by him, and they were a "neo-nationalist dictatorship" so...

lol that you guys think being loyal to your terrible space king matters

She's been playing her cards pretty close. So either she's smart - or someone smart is telling her what to do.

She gives good speeches. It's either the former or else she is also well-trained.

It seems to me that Arissa is the only one of this lot with proper Imperial bearing, also. The others seem petty and common by comparison.

Blaine should step down from his position and let another senior senator take up the chancellery. When such serious implications are presented there are reverberations beyond the flash of apparent indictment, so it would be best if he allowed a full senatorial review of the assassination to progress without his involvement.
We need to know the truth about this. We need to eliminate any possibility of political bias or manoeuvring. Attempted assassination of the Emperor is the most serious crime in our culture but are we even sure it really happened?
Maybe we have been chasing Blaine's goose across RES sites and NAV Points? Fowl certainly comes to mind and it should be eliminated as a possibility.

Those sick puppies!!! Now we know what they mean by bask in the emperor's glory!!! They mean to bathe in his blood!! *que dramatic music*

Senator Kahina Tijani Loren looks like this for reference.

Cheers,

I loved your book.

Could you tell us what is Kahina's view of the current events or who she supports?
Will she become a power herself?
