Automatic selling of exploration data

One of the problems with exploration is the rather manual process of selling the data upon your return to civilisation. This was improved somewhat by the ability to sell data in pages, but if you have explored 1000's of systems this is still an arduous task.

I solved this by programming a free auto mouse click app to do the job for me (from www.murgee.com). After a bit of trial and error I worked out the best sequence was as shown in this screenshot.

Your X/Y cords may be different for you (I still use a 1280x1024 monitor), but you should get the gist of what it does from this. I would have posted a video of it in action, except I am 20kly out and won't be coming back for a while. I find that leaving it running overnight usually does the trick. It does sometimes get stuck (not perfect) but it sure beats sitting at your PC doing it manually.

Excellent, thank you. This will help a great deal on my return..

I hope FD don't regard this as unacceptable third party tools. Certainly not given how horrendous this process is.

Useful, yes, but in the EULA there is a point about not being allowed to use automated programs.
If you really want to be safe, ticket it or hope a FD employer comments on this threat.

If it is ok, I might use something like that in the future as well, so thanks in advance, amybe ;).
In any case, my next trip will only start when we get a new explo type ship anyway, as I have no intention to take my 'Conda and I will start murdering people if I have to sit more than a few hours in an Asp again in the near future.
Hope the Diamondback (if it turns out to be explo viable) will not have the damn Lakon "workbench-style" control console...

Honestly, any FD staffer who thinks that, should be forced to sit through the sale of 10000 fully explored systems.

In one sitting.

Then, and only then, will I listen to any argument about it being against the EULA...

Imagine the outcry if traders had to sell their goods 20 at a time...

Z...

I don't have VoiceAttack, but isn't this program doing the same sort of thing. (I mean, its simulating mouse clicks, not that the functionality is covered elsewhere.) So many people use VA, I would have thought Frontier would have said something if it was a problem.

I may well use this. Selling data at the moment is worse than listening to all those two faced lying hidden agenda'd over self assured politicians. I will be gald when this election is over.

The delays most likely vary from player to player depending on network speed and traffic. It took me an hour to manually sell 40 pages of data, and I noticed that - especially with 'first discovery' dialog - the speed in which the process advanced varied quite a lot. So I definately recommend tweaking with those numbers if the defaults aren't working.

Yes, it is possible to tweak the values and this would speed things up (if the servers are responding quickly). However, I set this up with an emphasis on reliability so that I could leave it running for a long period (eg overnight). The App also has provision to capture screenshots too if you wanted to record your discoveries.

But seriously - lawyers care.

.. and most users don't.

If you'd rather spend hours aimlessly clicking your mouse selling exploration data worrying about some obscure clause in the EULA that may or may not be present, be my guest. I'd rather be sleeping after that nerve wrenching last 1000ly to civilisation.

After coming back from Sag A. 80 million from data.
I am glad there is not an option for sell all.

I planned to unlock system permits with turning in the data, most effective way to get permits without the mission grind.

Picked up 7 permits to locked systems.
Check the permit system update thread for more info on that line. I dumped in around 5-10 million for each faction to get the permits.
Also could be used for rank progression I assume with feds or empire..
Spread the data around for extras.

lol you really suggest "botting" tools in the forum of the game himself? :D

Nothing else it is - even if its without pixeldetction
