Do we believe this to be alien in origin? If so why should it be coded in any form we would be able to understand? Look at the emission of the object, what if the message is part audio and part pheromone, for example. Maybe it's not meant to be decoded, just "oooh"ed at while we speculate over what happens next and when.

(But please, carry on trying, I'm watching with much interest.)

Possibly... We don't know that there is a greater mystery yet.

I'm leaning towards this thought.

The UA is what DB hinted at in the Q&A... and the reason to listen to it is to get the spooky feeling, and to differentiate the UA from other canisters. Maybe to plant the seed that something is coming. I doubt the dev team put in a hint which requires 3rd party tools to decode, and that they have this elaborate hidden quest in game.

I do suspect that they were waiting for us to find the UA, and now they will build on it.. adding in more hints or steps. I think He Bo system is the place to watch.

The Galnet Article offering a Reward at He Bo was something I typed up in the hopes to get more commanders involved and motivated with the search. I chose he bo as they had a recent outbreak of Alien Parasites. I don't know if They are connected in any way to the current UA's we've found.

Congratulations on finding the UAs. I wondered about the mosquito-like whine in the background, could it be sped up morse? or slowed down speech? (no idea, just a couple of thoughts I had)

If you watch the video it does a kind of spore explosion

Has anyone that recorded the sound, sped it up or slowed it way down? Anything of note?

No, just higher notes ;)

Just a thought, though; both in my original clip and the subsequent longer one, there are never more than two of the same tone together. If it was a binary representation of 7-bit ASCII, you'd expect that to happen at least 50% of the time.

Does that help anyone?

can we get a download to the raw mp3 file please?

though I personally imagine it'll be an in-game hint rather than fiddling with third party software, it's still worth a go. And MB did ask if we'd tried listening to it
