Forget anything with 1444 or 1681 on the Z axis (middle number). It's too high up and there's as good as no stars up there.

Well, that might be a bad idea! I just read about the milky way absorbing small galaxies, that now are orbiting in the halo high above the plain. If you would put an alien race into a story, that is totally different from what humans are, wouldn't it be a nice idea to put them into the remains of an ancient mini galaxy being absorbed by the milky way billions of years ago? That would fit with new features in 1.3 like additional fuel tanks to jump more than 30 ly ... maybe we are ment to reach the world of the UA only after release of 1.3?

Best regards,
Crassus

PS: This thread and the story, you are all building up, is brilliant! :)

Erm, if you look back in the thread, that's because I squared the original values - guessing that the Honk+high note at the end of a sequence may have represented a raise to a power... ;)

Ah - the dangers of jumping in on a 206 page thread :).

George Lucas sounds reasonable. We have to try everything.
It could interact with the probes or something at SOL.

Also, whales, water, Thargoids were interested in Merlin in ROSS 154, a terraformed water world. Same as Peregrina. Maybe close to these worlds we get an different sound.
Who knows, try everything, just don't pour water on it :D

get some water(rares) from the founders world ._.

Congratulations guys this is really awesome !

I read that you guys found several UAs today in Timocani and another system, are we sure the different ones or different places ones make the same sound ?

and you are left with sets of 7 and one 6

Just remembering back to the Stargate movie. You'd need 6 points to know a position in a 3d coordinate system. And 7 to plot a course to it. If so, could these 7 sets be 3d coordinate groups with a point of origin for each set and then a single point in space as well? And if so would these map out a volumetric area of space or possibly way point to the single point (of 6)?

What about taking one of these to Regor sector, if other's hunches about permit unlocking are true, maybe that's an area to try?

There are 2 tones (low and high) that come in a sequence that seems to repeat after a while. That implies 2 states, up-down, on-off, 1-0... binary code.

I considered converting to ASCII but that's a human invention. So I disregarded it.
Morse code is also a human invention. So I'm disregarding it.

So if we take the sequence as it comes, without anything else other than speeding up the audio for ease of listening, we get a series of high and low tones. Binary code converted into decimal is as far as I think we should be going. Consider alternate bases (octal, hexadecimal etc) but I believe even that's complicating matters unnecessarily.

The things we need to know are where the sequence begins, what is the separator, and what is the offset.

That spore explosion seems to be a good start or end point. Is it possible to get a complete unadulterated recording of a UA from explosion to explosion?

The original values seem too low to be coordinates, and I was guessing at the significance of the honk+high note.

I've also checked out all those permutations on Galaxy Map Pete. Nothing at all. Not a single hit.

He Bo was arbitrarily added to the search, It was chosen as a location mostly because they require a location to submit news to the GalNet Player submissions. It seemed a good a choice as any because of their recent news of alien parasites infecting citizens. They may or may not be related at all.

Though, with the recent galaxy-wide broadcast of the event, I wouldn't be surprised if FD found a way to relate them. Only way to know is to keep trying to figure out what the artifact is supposed to tell us.
