Killing imperials at Quivira repercussions?

Some are fighting against the traitor Patreus rather than the empire.

I did some fighting at the CZ in protecting against Patreus and while it had no negative effect on my empire rank or me being friendly with them it also made me friendly with the alliance.

Easy way out for an mercenary, ey? "He isnt the true imperial, he is a traitor" and then you can fight against Imperial Navy? Dont make me laugh.

If PLC Electronics faction wins the civil war, the system will belong to the Empire. If Peoples Party of Judea... erm, i mean Quivira win, the system will be independent.

Every pilot fighting for independents is an mercenary at best. If you think of yourself as an imperial pilot and you still fight for the independents, face the truth.

Its stories like this that bring a warm rosy glow to my heart

Imperials killing imperials

Would'nt be surprised if 1/2 the empire killed the other 1/2 when the dear old emperor finally kicks the bucket.

Bill

<<still sulking about Liaedin when both sides shot the heck out of me

Yep....going down swinging for the Empire. Patreus' alleged betrayal really doesn't come into it for a true Imperial Pilot.

EDIT: And on a side note if the system goes indi...after 1.3 I have a feeling Quivira will see action again.

Patreus is using this time to exploit the weakness of the empire right now. The emperor is weak and about to die and Patreus wants to show his power. There is no one willing to stop him because if I remember correctly he has plenty of influence and a huge army. Even when Princess Arissa stated that Hr 706 had something to do with the assassination of his grace, Petreus claimed them innocent, took back the prisoners, and there was nothing the princess could do about it. (until the story unfolds more) Also, Did I mention that he is a loan shark?

The game is not complete and they called it release that's the problem. Still waiting for frontier to finish their labor.

Im actually a little annoyed with this one. Near the empire dock which is further away there are only low intensity conflict zones.

near the rebel base theres lows and highs, a lot easier and lot more opportunity to get more credits.

Still, fighting for the empire even though it looks like theres less support for this one.

Dumb question, I'm currently allied to the Empire and was wondering if I fought this war against the empire would it deduct my points from the empire? Has anyone tried and tested this? 26,500 LS to the empire dock is quite far so i feel slightly lazy to fly the distance to cash in the rewards lol.

Feels good putting the Empire in its place. Don't worry you get no rep loss.

I fought for Patreus in the last CG. Afterwards, despite the nice payout, he just up and said, "Meh. I never really cared, let's just sell the system I just bullied to the highest friendly bidder." Let's see him now when he gets his black eye.

Patreus isn't getting a black eye at all. Loyal Imperials are being stabbed in the back by their so called brothers and sisters.
Shameful.
I hope PP brings consequences for betrayal. As I understand it, Imperials could end up fighting each other if their minor factions go to war and that would be fair enough. But this lazy money chasing or, even worse, naïve condemnation of a true Imperial noble by half-wit CMDRs who believe everything they are told is sad to behold. Any Imperial CMDR fighting against the Empire, regardless of senatorial flag in it's current form, is lowly vermin of the filthiest kind . They should join the Federation, where hypocrisy and double standards are seen as positive personality traits.

Nah, Senator Betrayus isn't worth fighting for, I fight for empire normally but this is just a personal power grab on his part so I'm a merc for the independents, in game terms that faction should view me dimly but I don't think every empire faction like Patreus personally and some would even like me more for what I'm doing

Easy way out my behind, the ones taking the easy way out are the ones afraid to go against Patreus when it is clear he had something to do with the attempt on the Emperor. Letting him or his faction control this is a far more insidious danger than the area becoming independent.

The system can be taken back after we have weeded out weak minded fools.

Heh you keep drinking the fed kool aid supplied by Patreus though!

When the Empire fractures we'll all be choosing a side to fight for, whether it be the Empire fractions or the Feds when they decide to weight in too (except for those Alliance peaceniks). Right now I know it's not Patreus I'll be siding with whatever the case, so in this instance I'll choose the underdogs over the loan shark.

In gameplay terms I hope that when 1.3 comes they'll add more logical consequence to these sorts of decisions. For now I think it makes good gameplay sense in the absence of an important piece of the reputation system to give players a slightly softer ride. It's a bit counterintuitive to add a binary 'for/against' logic to a scenario which is clearly being portrayed as a multifaceted political scenario. When civil war breaks out after 1.3 (which seems so likely I'd put money on it :p ), I think the decision who you side with may well be more meaningful.

The difficulties that Patreus and his mindless minions are now encountering show that consequences for betrayal are already in the game ;)

It was sad to see that surrounded by Imperial Space, still the Indies won the fight. It shows that its all about the money for some, as in real life no loyalties, no pride.

I went up with the Empire to Tier 2 and got a bit of money for ending up in the top 15%... so yes I am in Empire space and a foreign power attacks or offends my side I will fight, no matter if I have an internal problem afterwards with a particular Politian.

So to give an Example, Bush, he pushed us into the Gulf war, pretending the lie about weapons of mass destruction, which were never found. We won nonetheless, and got his butt for all the other reasons too. Bush nonetheless, lost face, lost many other things after that internally in the US (even world wide) so yes that is the perfect example.
