I wish to defend myself and state that my piloting sucked mostly because I was using a gamepad.

Joystick makes piloting so much more intuitive...
Not that it makes me much better, though... :/

Why put all these details into a game if you can't fly in to them? I'm sure I won't be the only one to try a Disaster Area sun dive re-enactment.

At the moment the sun is out of reach, but who know what will be available in the next alpha build or the betas

The learning curve is great, the earlier missions are a good introduction but the later mission are hard. I use a gamepad and haven't had any issues but I'm going to save up for a joystick!

I've deliberately rammed and avoided to see the results. The way the shields clash and the effects are rather nice.

I hear the trick is to sit still and let the heat of your systems gradually build up until the boiling point.
