...and from what i can gather, the world's worst case of tinitus (sounds like someone's spraying aerosol cans into my ears, 24/7 - very loud, never stops)

Sympathy, from a fellow sufferer. Those who don't have it can't imagine how maddening it can be - the only silence you ever experience is during sleep.

But I really love when its raining heavy, because I can't hear it then.

Mine is loud enough so I can't hear the sound of rain on the roof, which sucks :(

Not disabled, just old and arthritic.

Using a HOTAS makes the game much easier for me, and my hands don't ache like they do after using a KB for a couple of hours.

This ^^^ I suffer from pretty bad arthritis which means my fingers no longer dance across the keyboard. So, although I wouldn't call myself disabled in the real world, it does affect my game play. For that reason I am voting yes for the purpose of this poll.

Edited to add. Never mind, I need glasses too it seems.

Combat disabled, tinnitus/PTSD/shot knees+back from service... Only affects my play in that I have to spend more for a quality desk chair, but that's offset by the fact that I work 100% telecommuting (usually whilst I play Elite) so I write it off internally as a job requirement.

Wouldn't change a thing even knowing where I'd be at this point. Life is good compared to how it could be.

I have compulsive sneazing. So sometimes, I see multiple contacts on the scanner appearing all at once.
:)

I have not so great eyes, it affects my gameplay mostly when exploring, I have to get my nose up to screen to see some stars on map or if I want to check planet's skins on system map. So, not a big deal.

Disabled, no, but I've had some interesting medical developments over the past few months.

The poll is closed so I can't vote but I am disabled.
i have narcolepsy with cataplexy which means I can't control my sleep wake cycle. I can fall asleep randomly, take forever to wake up, and can't get to sleep when I need to.
this makes exploration nearly impossible since the sound in supercruise lulls me to sleep.
trading is manageable with music and a friend to talk to.
mining as it is right now is impossible to stay awake doing. Looking forward to 1.3 being a former space engineers player I miss mining.
ive even fallen asleep in conflict zones.. Thank goodness for anaconda shields and a friend that yelled at me when I turned red.

I have had ME since 2000. I can't really leave the house unaided unless it's in the garden, can do most day to day things but in a limited fashion. Although medicine can't improve the illness itself I have to take quite a quantity to help with symptoms and that can bring its own problems. I can play Elite fairly comfortably but have lost ships due to hand spasms and have to frequently stop - mid fight or not - to move troublesome muscles etc. Voice comms are nigh-on impossible as my hearing is over-sensitive.

I managed to work for a few months years ago but tried to do too much too soon and relapsed badly. I've not been in the position to work since.

Out of desperation and a desire to push myself I wrote to Frontier asking for a job but they weren't interested. Alas!

No epileptics?

Interesting?

I am just a bit mental and old. Looking forward to re-finding my infant state.

Arry.

I know the feeling man, employers tend to not like it when you fall asleep on the job. It's also hard to work a scheduled shift when you can't keep a schedule yourself.
Im also trying to find a job that will work with me, aside from starting my own and hoping my YouTube channel really takes off paying the bills is difficult to say the least.

me too this ''problem'' i have caused me lot of bad times, and unemployment.... no income... its a pain.

the worst is when people dont want to help you

Have CFS/ME, have had it for about 8 years, maybe longer as my memory is so crap now I even have stickered my keyboard as I'd never remember all the keys otherwise.
Use a mouse too as have carpal tunnel in both wrists.
The CFS gives me loss of feeling in some of my fingers and toes and as a result of the CFS I also suffer from Fibromyalgia which gives me random muscle and joint pain anywhere in my body.
Tend to play for a couple hours at a time if I'm seated comfortably then get up and stretch and move about to relieve any pain, trapped nerves etc.

Polls closed but I'm a yes but not in a way that effects play - well it can effect how long I sit in a chair ,My lower (lumber/sacral) spines held together with screws ,rods and fused bone because of a combination of a degenerative disease and and injury from the Army - surgery mostly worked but I'll probably be needing another level fused in the next couple of years.
