Thank you FD for not letting me down

I just want to put out a public thank you to FD for giving me (and the rest of us) such a well constructed alpha. It's a joy to play, despite the odd niggle, and has completely restored my slightly flagging faith in the direction the game is taking.

When I initially backed right at the start of the KS, it was purely out of nostalgia with no knowledge to go on. As more information came out, I bumped my pledge up and up, ending at a Collectors Edition level I think. Then came many months of gradual disillusionment as I began to think the design was taking directions I didn't like - PvP, POI-jumping, no 3rd person, numerous other issues I've disagreed over and got sometimes quite worked up about. For which I apologise!

Despite that, following the development and community over the last year has helped me through some ongoing difficult personal times with topics to get my mind working away from things I shouldn't dwell on, and giving me something to really look forward to.

It's clear to me now that despite it not being "my perfect game" it's going to be "a perfect game" for very very many people, and a damn excellent one for everyone else. And that makes me very happy.

Thank you for the Alpha, it's probably going to be my best Christmas present by far :)

Here is a beautiful homage. And I think that we all think the same thing about the perfect game. And the best is yet to come over the next few years. Because the galaxy will evolve continually

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Yes, the Alpha is by any account an excellent one with remarkably few issues. My confidence in FD has only increased because of it.

+1 from me. Personally, I've waited 18 (!) years for this and it just might be the only game I've got the time and energy to play for some time now. Also, when I read this

What we’re doing with Elite: Dangerous is building a consistent world that we will never need to change again. We’ll be able to add to it. I don’t think there will be a sequel to this game, ever. It will carry on. The game in ten years’ time will look completely different from the game now.
I know I'll be in it for the long haul :)

Could not have put it better myself

Well said. I'm having problems, I've got very poor eyesight and never used a controller before but it's SO enjoyable even if I'm spending a great deal of time waiting for the scenario to load again after being blown to pieces once more.

Can't wait for the next stage, and am even more impatient for the full game.
