The Code oppose legal highs in DISO

It has been announced that the Green Party of Diso is to step up the cultivation of Diso Ma Corn in Birmingham. This cannot be allowed to happen. Diso ma corn snorted in powder form may well be a "Legal High", but it is certainly not welcome in Leesti by Reynhardt Intellysis who are worried that production in the hi tech industries of the system will fall if the employees become Cornheads.
The ruling factions of other Independent states are also shocked that the Alliance have allowed the Green Party to step up production of a product that used to be in very limited supply.
A Coalition of Independent factions have asked The Code to help to stop the increase in production of this legal high and we have accepted what is a very lucrative offer from the coalition.
We give notice to any trader bringing in any production machinery into Diso. Rethink your decision or face the consequences. The Code will be out in force over the coming days and will destroy any ships carrying production machinery into Diso, you will get ONE warning to turn around, if you do not leave , you will be destroyed.

Wait.... You're pirates, yes? And you're against people using drugs? Is this some kind of new age pirating? :D Sounds wrong to me... Surely you should be attempting to control the drug trade (legal or not)...

On most occasions we only ask for a small amount of your cargo. If interdicted on this occasion you have three choices.
1 Drop all of your cargo and live.
2 Drop non of your cargo , run and be killed.
3 Combat log and be reported and put on our KOS list.

4 Assist the alliance in clearing their systems of the minor pirate irritation they seem to have developed... :p

I'm sure there are loads of other options too. Though I doubt I'll get round to any of them.

Being for some illegal activity does not logically progress to be for all illegal activity. Drugs are (bad mkaay) a such a thing that can destroy a population and has been a valid war tactic since pre-history.

You're showing your true colors. You're no better than the Federation if you try to coercively stop people from doing what they want with their own bodies.

But let's be real here, they're pirates. They want the drugs for themselves.

Also, those "options" you give, there used to be an option to buy a travel pass, that you assured people you'd honor (this itself was obviously extortion) but when you don't even honor the extortion, how do you expect anyone to drop their cargo and trust you?

This makes NO sense. Increased production of Diso Ma Corn is NOT going to mean increased imports to Leesti. This stuff only sells when it gets exported to far away systems. Based on the narrative provided in this post there is NO reason for Code to prevent the export of Diso Ma Corn. If they feel it is a problem in Leesti they can police in-coming traffic to ensure they aren't carrying "contraband" into the Leesti system.
This is just further evidence that Code is a bunch of pirates making excuses for their anti-social behaviour. Once the poor trader dumps his or her cargo of Diso Ma Corn what does Code do? Scoop it up and sell it themselves on the black market. Hypocrites!
Law and order will prevail and Code will once again be driven into obscurity.
It is utterly laughable that Code, which has anchored itself in a system that has built its entire infrastructure on the sale of Leestian Evil Juice, is making morality claims regarding the relatively safe sale and consumption of Diso Ma Corn.
If you are going to pirate peaceful law abiding traders then just have the guts to say it. Don't hide behind false morality as you try and rebuild your unredeemable image with the rest of the galaxy.

Stop coercion? This world is about coercion. Society coerces you to believe in a morality to begin with if we want to talk philosophy and political theory. Now you are measuring that morality believing in non-coercion against another? What?

As for your comment on our handling with the drugs, you may accuse however you want, and I won't stop you.

As for the travel pass option, if anything it presents our seriousness and determination. Also, we have the right to define the the content of the travel pass. Under the special circumstance of a CG, the pass has a different definition.

If you dislike that, then you must dislike any EULA/Terms of Service/Terms of Users. Since they all utilize this method to withhold the final right to define their service.

How many of those have you signed up for? That's right, countless of them, why aren't you complaining to those?

Why allow the problem to grow instead of choking it in its crib?

Anti-social? We are a minority, so I guess you can take a majority stand and abuse that tyranny whenever you want, well, sorry we are different, we hold different ideologies. Surprise, there are people different than you sharing the same space you live.

We do not utilize the Leesti black market at all. Plus, humans are known to be hypocrites in every turn. It isn't a valid insult, to begin with when it is shared by all.

Law and order? You mean oppression and fear that any political system depended on over the history of humanity, right that is great indeed.

If you can find one place that is not corrupted, I congratulate you since you found utopia. If we want to change things, we have to start somewhere, so excuse us for settling down in Lave and try to change things.

False morality? What says your morality isn't false? What is morality to begin with? Have you even done enough studies on morality, or philosophy of any sort to even comment on the subject? But of course, I cannot stop you from posting, so post away with your one-sided "morality" claims.

I prefer the alternative option 2:
Drop none of your cargo, run and (possibly) escape.

CODE are honour-less CRIMINALS, plain and simple. Their 'cause' is irrelevant as they mostly don't stick to their own rules anyway. So, don't be bullied and take your chances!

Um, yes, if I sign up to a EULA that's fine... I'm not signing up to yours ;) And yes, you can say what you like about your "travel pass" too. I won't be paying that any attention either. :D

First of all, please read my post more elaborately.

The topic about the EULA analogy only applies to those that signed up and paid for a travel pass, please do not take things out of context just to find something to instigate arguments.

Second of all, who said you have to pay attention to the travel pass?

Did we put a gun to your head and told you to sign up and pay for it? No, there are options of actions and consequences that follow them respectively.

Which brings me to conclude that you merely wanted something to berate the CODE on. Which you are entitled to do.

Good work good sir, sorry we agitated you.
