Medium Landing Pads Make Me Smoke More Cigarettes

Look, guys, I can roll a cigarette and light it well within the time it takes me to click,"launch" and for the blast plate to lower so my Python can be released. This takes (give or take a second) 24 seconds to complete.

Where as!!!!!!!

Both the Small and Large docking pads (if you had a Cobra, Sidewinder, or perhaps an Anaconda) take about 11 seconds.

This really doesn't make any sense FDev, and I think it's quite silly that a medium landing pad would take more than twice as long as either a small landing pad, or a LARGE landing pad. Why, in fact, you could technically launch from a small landing pad, and then a large landing pad (in sequence) and STILL GET RELEASED FROM THE DOCKING PAD before the Python would. In light of this silly little thing, I have taken to using that 24ish seconds of time to injecting my cigarette because, well, what else am I going to do with 1/3ish a minute?

Now, chill out, all of you non smokers. That title was just a whatchamacallit.... perhaps a click bait :D

Of course I do not blame FDev for my smoking habit, nore will I ever chase them for some sort of legal battle because of this. Rest easy. Some people still smoke things.

But the fact remains that the Medium landing pads take more than twice as long as the other two, and I really do hope that this will be adjusted in the next and upcoming 1.3 update!:D

If it is not, then I will continue to use that time for making my cigarettes.

P.S. news flash for all of you non-smokers, you're all gonna die :D +rep for anyone who knows which comedian said that in the late 80's.

Med. pads are terrible >.<

Land on pad, go to hanger, go to surface (if you are not going to outfitting). Go to station menus and or map while the animations are going in in the background.

When done. Launch - no waiting regardless of pad size.

yes you can do things in the mean time such as setting destinations via the map, but what if you're just reloading for another round of combat zones or RES'? It's ciggy rolling time.

Having just bought a Python and now back to using Medium Pads I totally agree. I hate how long they take...

I agree when your on the surface and click launch you need to wait a couple of seconds for that bar infront of you to lower. It takes longer then the others.

It takes more than double the time of small and large landing pads!

It is still quicker overall to do the drop and start the rise before going to the station menu.

Sounds like an excuse to roll another ciggy than any real complaint though. :D

Doing other things while your ship is being rotated and released from the docking pad does not make it go faster, it will still be about 24 seconds. Like I said, you can do things to occupy yourself while those 24 seconds go by that will make it feel shorter, but it will still be more than double the time it takes for a small or large ship to launch. What do you not understand about this?

It's a generational sort of thing I guess....of course there's people who'd say the same thing about Jethro Tull. At any rate, R+ for your link
Yeah RevCo are pretty dated and only really a side project of Ministry at this point, more like a side show. Still its fun to look back at what music videos used to be like! :D

I don't mean to sound like a butthole but I suggest you try and time it yourself some time. You'll see that small and large ships are shipped off in less than half the time a medium ship is.
