Pirate "Blockade" at Diso and Other Thoughts

1. Pirates don't do blockades. Navies and trade federations do blockades all the time in real life and in movies, but pirates just want resellable goods. What CODE is doing in Diso is OK, but don't gussy it up. Calling it a swarming is probably more accurate..

2. In a world where space stations blow up ships inside the station (!) just to have the debris rain down on the facilities, should we be upset if some players want to deliberately ram other players inside and around said stations?

3. You want to defeat pirates and station rammers? Get an Anaconda. Mine is armed and armoured as well as I can afford, and still gives me 432 tonnes of cargo and 16.5 LY jump range. No one has ever stolen my stuff (yet).

Cheers

It's perhaps a trifle impractical for new players to find several hundred million credits to outfit an Anaconda.

What I want to know is why are they blockading it? There's no political agenda to this CG at all - its just a bonus rare good.

The Code have attempted to effectively take ownership of several of the systems around Lave, influencing them out of Alliance control. The current series of "Old Worlds Resurgence" missions in these worlds represent (or are perceived to represent) the Alliance's attempts to stabilise their control over these systems, and may well play into establishing one or more Alliance Power factions in Powerplay.

The Code don't like the Alliance taking their toys away, so they're doing their best to oppose these CGs. Plus they get to gang up on barely-armed traders, which is pretty much their main hobby anyway.

So why no solo?

If Traders don't like to have the thrill of the hunt they can always avoid that blubber jabbers.

That's why i don't understand all those threads about Code blockading this and that... You either play in open and deal with it one way or another or you go over to group / solo mode, end of issue.

Certainly a more accessible solution than buying and outfitting the most expensive ship in the game.

my thoughts exactly. I do like solo, but I like to interact with people in terms of CGs and Forums, or wing action every now and than. I don't mind open play, but never really got the diffrence. If I want pvp I will farm me a strong healthy python and start looking for that wanted pvp freaks or anarchy systems.
