Never done that, but back when I was playing Elder Scrolls III a lot I did go to meet a friend in a pub and, having checked he wasn't already there, went to the bar to buy a drink. While I was there I remembered the upstairs balcony-type bit above that bar and did, for just a second, think 'I'll just levitate up to check if he's up there while the barman's pulling my pint...' and was briefly confused that I couldn't levitate.
The star you want to get to is still over 500LY away, the gaps all round it are 70+ light year jumps and your still trying to work out how to get there.
I take it all back, this camouflage scheme can look nice under the right circumstances.
