What Grinds Your Gears?

My question is exactly as it is in the title: what grinds your gears? What makes you anything from slightly frustrated to extremely annoyed? Obviously, I'll kick it off.

Player Groups: Not necessarily the organization or the action of the players, but the effect they have on instancing. When I fly into Diso lately, all I get is 5 fps and about a hundred billion NPCs trying to do the riverdance, all spawned to keep up with the amount of players in the area. It starts getting annoying after 5 players i nan instance, and gets horrifying at 9 or so.

The Mass-Lock System: Why is it that a Cobra weighs more than a Type 6, yet cannot mass-lock it? Why is mass-lock so black and white? Shouldn't the total mass within a certain distance of your vessel be the factor which determines how slow you charge the FSD? It's annoying when one Cobra can't stop a Type 6, the only target which would make sense for a Cobra to pirate, without uber-expensive railguns (for a pirate's salary), but when four Cobras are chasing a Type 6 and can't stop the without killing him, it gets a little ridiculous.

Interdiction Modules: Very little (read: no) explanation as to what the difference between E2 and A2 is, for example, and just the fact that there are different interdiction modules. I would much prefer a three modules, each tuned for a specific type of ship, so a large-ship interdictor, small-ship interdictor, and medium-ship interdictor.

All These Mosquitoes: There are too many mosquitoes where I live :(

So, what grinds your gears?

1) People that think that just because you do not enjoy playing a game the same way they do, that you are somehow inferior.
2) People that think that just because you are not as good as they are at a game, that somehow your opinion on said game is somehow invalid or less applicable.
3) People that always want to force THEIR way of playing a game onto YOU, or to lock you out of the game (or portions of it) if you do not play it their way.
4) Corporations are people. I'll believe that one when Texas executes one.
5) Lawyers, Politicians and salespeople.

I have a minor gear grind with the HUD. When you target a station it tells you the station name. Next to this is a small icon. When it is an outpost, it is a small icon of an outpost. When it is the traditional Coriolis starport (the ball shaped ones that are hard to find the entrance to), this is a small icon of this. The trouble is when you select a new Orbis starport the icon is still that of the Coliolis! My OCD alarm goes off every time.

Also, alcohol seems to rewire my brain so that I want to hit the Boost button instead of the deploy landing gear. Bad brain, bad!

People that make lists of things that grind their gears in forums.
Which I've just done...damn.

People who write guides and think they are experts

1) People posting meaningless polls on the forums because they think it somehow makes them cool or more relevant.
2) All the errors that continually show up in the Gaffenet feed. :D
3) Lack of bobbleheads!

1) Crunching my car into reverse when travelling forwards at 50mph

2) Food manufacturers that go on the telly and explain that their sugar-saturated foods that glow red in the dark are "What the customers want."

3) The grinding wheel in my workshop

4) Bankers who think we swallow their guff about how they are worth their obscene salaries because they're making large profits, and the "trickle down effect". Their little smile because they think they've got one over on us when the truth is that we are powerless to do anything about them.

5) My feeling that oil changes are optional rather than compulsory.

6) The people who thought there would be no point in voting ourselves away from the greedy selfish toffs down south because any party that was so obviously bad for the country would be voted out at the next General Election.

7) I guess something Elite related. You know it is quite a good game. I'd say the amount of time it takes to get to the outer planets, although I hear they are going to do something about that soon.

Forum related ... hmm ...

100% with you on Polls ... grr.

And references to past KS meme's that meant something at the time but is rather dumb used now ..

Greasy streaks on the "lens" of the debug camera. Please, FD, fix this. It makes no sense.

(Since I'm a RL amateur photographer and keep my lenses impeccably clean, this really grinds my gears.)
