Maybe I was too good?

So I have been farming the RES in a certain system for quite some time now and lately the spawns seem to be very weak...
the influence of the systems pirate faction is at 4% so that might have something to do with it.

Is it possible to drive pirates out of a system?!

If yes i probably have to look for new hunting grounds... any recommendations?

ETA crucis has some great Res about 16ls from the start and about 3ls from and outpost with re arm. A great bh system

OP my local res has the pirate faction at less than 3% and still they come!

Don't know if it's possible (might be if you get them down to 0%), but at one I frequent, they're down to 2% I think, and they still show up. In Anacondas and Clippers. How are these pirates on their last legs affording these things? I thought Pirating wasn't that lucrative?!?

As far as I know, the spawns are random. You might just be having a streak of weak-spawn luck. I don't think killing all the pirates gets rid of them, although it's just one of a number of paradoxical things about piracy in ED.

OP was probably in the vicinity of my "bad luck bubble". Essentially, anywhere I go at the moment nothing bigger than a Sidewinder spawns... and not often enough for my liking either. RES have been nightmare boring for me recently.

Hi All,

We know there are going to be different quality of RES sites post 1.3 If this started occurring recently, I wonder if this is a prelude to 1.3, and your RES site is about to become a low quality in 1.3?

well then the update must be right around the corner and all the res i have in my system must be low quality.... that would at least mean i could take a look at the diamondback rather soon which is nice.

1.3 beta is still a week off, so I don't expect anything has changed on live yet.

RES spawns are just random. Like any random distribution, you will see some streakish tendencies.

Indeed. Proper randomness actually appears streakish to human perception. What most people think of as "random" is actually "equal distribution". Which isn't random at all.
